I'll say that we finish the season 22-8. We make it to either Friday or Saturday in the SEC Tournament (depending on if we have Thursday off or not), and finish up 23-9 and get in.

I think 23 gets us in.
I'd rather not have to depend on the SEC tourney. You never know what will happen there. You want to know that you have a spot going into the SEC tourney. Any wins there should be bonuses and help seeding in the Big Dance.

I think the overall SEC RPI will increase a bit over the course of the conference schedule. The top 4 SEC teams should be locks for the NCAA tournament. That is looking like 3 east teams and 1 west team right now. A 5th team getting a bid depends largely on how a lot of other conference races play out.
I think if LSU wins 24 games, they are a lock. Whether that means going 8-5 in the remaining SEC games, loosing to Xavier & winning 2 SEC tournament games or some other combination, that should be enough. 23 wins and they are on the bubble, even if they win the west unless they get a couple of quality wins along the way (Xavier & Kentucky). 22 wins or less and they need a lot of help.
As it has already been mentioned, how a team is playing down the stretch can be a deciding factor. As well as the Tigers have looked in the past week, let's hope they haven't peaked too early. One thing the Tigers do have is experience and Tasmin is emerging as a team leader. And Johnson demands that they play hard each and every game. I don't suspect there will be much of a drop of, if any, over the remaining games.
Baring injuries, anything less than 10-6 in the SEC would be a disappointment IMO. It's still early in the season but this time next week we will have a much better prospective of how good this team really is. Hopefully we are discussing a 16-3 LSU team sitting in 1st place in the west.

Big Ten, ACC, Big East, Big Twelve and PAC 10 will probably get 6,7,8,6 and 5 bids respectively. That's 32 of the 64 right there and the Big 10 may end up with 7 bids.
I'd say that will leave the SEC 3-4 spots tops. It's going to take an impressive resume to get in without a conference championship IMO.

Go at least 9-7 in conference AND beat Xavier. Puts us at 22-9. Do that and the SEC tourney does not matter. A win over Xavier would be
that huge.
that huge.

I'd put down a good bit of $$$ that the SEC gets 4 teams in the tournament. Tenn, KY, FLA, and at least one West team will make it. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked at all if they get 5.
