tired of talking about this. i am just ready to be at the game and watch it unfold!
Not only am I out of town, but I also just found out "we" have plans that will cause me to miss the first quarter or so.

1. Watching Wisky's offense is like watching LSU's offense, physical, power, punch you in the mouth style football, which is probably a good thing, because it's the kind style our defense sees everyday in practice;
I disagree with this. We do much better against high flying spread offenses (A&M, Auburn, Oregon).

If Wisconsin played USCe week 1 last year and not the Elk Bandit Bowl they would have lost by 24 not 10

I think Tigers win,but Wis. will move the ball on the ground. All summer on here we hear about our only weakness on D is our inexperienced DT's. Heck somebody starts a thread every day about will Valentine play(he will not).We also see the ongoing MLB debate, Welter vs Beckwith. These two areas is right where they are going to hit us.
Somebody showed how much bigger our blockers were than their front line defenders. The reverse is true as well and three OLs for Wis. look to be early draft picks.

Gordon will get his yards on Saturday. Wouldn't be surprised if he cracks 100. But it won't be enough.

Tigers by 10. Close game but the tigers pull it out late.

These two teams are like mirror images. I hope LSUs overall talent wins out.
I also like LSUs coaching.

Just can't fathom Wisconsin winning big simply because I'm accustomed to our players being more athletic.
Nothing to do with this football game, but if I had a dollar for every time someone used this phrase as rationale why they would beat our hoops squad and still came out on the losing end, I wouldn't be sitting at this desk right now.

"This game is going to be a close one in the trenches, and whoever wins the time of possession will come out on top."
Or who more likely who wins the field position battle. What LSU has to do is the same as 2011. Win it with special teams and defense. Give the other team the long field where a limited versatility offense has to drive 80 yards. This allows more chances for turnovers and for the offense to commit errors.
Use the punter's big leg and defense against big plays to keep the other team out of the end zone.
This also gives LSU the short field a lot. If the QB does average well or a little bit better then LSU will win maybe even fairly big.

Watched the game. I was impressed with the run blocking by WI and their running attack. I strongly believe they are making a big mistake starting McEvoy. We will load the box and crush them like we did against johnny football. A pro style quarterback will atleast make the corners honest. I think the safeties will cheat inside most of the game and make it a lot tougher for Gordon and White to get yards. If LSU is up 2-3 touchdowns, you will see Stave back in there. LSU will win by two scores! Geaux Tigers!

White is playing in the NFL. I assume you meant Clement.
I think the thought with starting McEvoy is that he at least presents the threat to pull it down and exploit an opening, whereas Stave the Statue would allow the LSU front seven to pin their ears back and bring the house.
This all assumes, of course, that Tanner really is starting. Andersen gave the impression the other day that it wasn't a foregone conclusion.

I'd be more concerned with the trick plays, fake punts, half-back passes, etc. which are some of what it's gonna take to beat us. Wisconsin knows that LSU is both a physical and athletic team, so at some point we're either gonna push you over or just run by you.......it is my opinion that we are more dimensional than they are.....
The Wisconsin coaches know this and will have a few tricks to try and dish out.........we can't get caught sleeping on defense and allow a silly trick plays.......

I don't agree with this.

As far as the running backs, I will take our stable any day
You underestimate Gordon.

Wisky will have their wake-up call saturday night. LSU wins by at least 10
Not a bad prediction, but if it happens it is because our offense simply rolls their inexperienced defense, or because our front 7 outperforms its expectations.

I agree as well with the bottom poster. LSU's defense the past couple years haven't rotated the DLine like we did back in 2011. We've played better vs spread teams than we have vs the smash mouth teams.
Just go back and watch the second half at Alabama last year. Granted our offense did no favors to the defense.
It'll be interesting to see what Hunter, Rasco, the DT's and the LB's can do. I'm excited to see Kwon get more playing time.

I completely agree 100%!!!!!
Our defense is more catered to the "spread" offense than it is the smash mouth offense like it used to be......
however, I do believe that LSU is one of a few teams (if not the only team) that can play both styles almost as equally good!!!
