We were picked to come last in the SEC this year by multiple outlets.

Dude beat Michigan and Houston. Michigan is really damn good.

Most of these games were considered out of our reach.

The main problem with this team is that it can't go the distance. We run out of steam when it really matters, as seen by the multiple times we caught up, and then slowed down.

And THAT didnt stop Wade from destroying the media.

Next years guys will go the distance.

Will Wade is through wading, you guys.

Will Wade is a fricking jet running so hot the turbines are about to blow out. But they dont. They just stay on the brink of blowing out because it looks more badass.

I started watching LSU MBB when I was very young during the Maravich years. After that, prior to Dale Browns arrival, the program was non-existent. Dale was always considered more of a good recruiter & motivational coach than a x’s & o’s guy. But what he did masterfully with his less talented teams was make them understand their roles, especially in the post season. My only beef with Wade is that he tried to fit a square peg in a round hole. He couldn’t get this team coached up to play any type of defense. I’ve never witnessed an LSU Basketball season where opposing teams had this many open looks from both the perimeter and under the basket. The defensive breakdowns were astounding for a college basketball team. But I’ll give Wade a pass for obvious reasons this year. I guess my expectations on the defensive side were unrealistic. I thought Wade could get more out of them.

You have to be fricking joking. I have witnessed such seasons, 2015-16 and 2016-17.

Stop being a sensationalist.

A pass? You joking? He exceeded expectations with a shitty squad this season. Arguably less talented than last year's team. Defense will improve especially when we get some better guys in the post: see 2018-19.

I did too, but the reality is that Epps and Reath as much as I admire them for their effort and dedication for my school, really compromise our ability to play consistently sound defense.

Sims has a little more beef and can move a little better but lacks the length.

It's not just the getting pushed around and the narrow back sides that challenge them in blocking out people, it's the ball screen d that to me is most problematic. They really struggle there which compromises defensive rotation and has a ripple effect over the entire defense.

We went small in the second half against State and at least stopped the 3's in the second half, they went 1-5 on threes vs. 9-12 in the first half. But you plug one hole by and it opens another as going small has its own risks.

Watching Reid on tape, looks like he moves his feet well which will serve him better on ball screen D, and he certainly has the size, WW just needs to get him to buy in. Bigby by all accounts is the rim protector that we've been sorely needing.

I'd like to see Waters buy more into playing defense for 40 minutes. I think he's capable of being a better on ball defender he just has to commit to it.

I'm more than willing to give WW the benefit of the doubt here. Let's see how we defend next year with a more physically capable team. I think the difference will be immediately noticeable.

Did you just not watch the Johnny Jones years? I mean it is ok if you skipped over them, I wish I could get them out of my head too.

Did you just not watch Jones last two seasons. Statistically, last year's defensive effort was the worst of any major conference team (Power 5) in over 16 years. Let that sink in, historically bad defense.

There were bumps in the road this year, no doubt, but to say it's anywhere close to the worst LSU defensive team ever shows your ignorance.

I am not optimistic about this 2018 football team but Will Wade is doing wonders for basketball.

Great hire in coach Wade !
