...trigger a new Coaching Search forum regardless of the outcome? Or will both coaches be safe if they drop this one this year?

Nope. They both beat top 10 teams in their first game. Now if LSU loses to GA, MOO ST, BAMA, FL and maybe TaM.. bye, bye "O".

I believe this game could turn out to be a blow-out like that, and it could be either team on the bad side of it. If so, I bet the chatter starts on the losing side.

I keep seeing this crap on here. How many coaches do we think we can pay to not coach while we find our Coachsiah...

I am not pro or negative O. I just realize what the 800 lb gorilla in the room is - buyouts. We are paying Miles just short of $5 mil till 2022. CEO is guaranteed another $9.0 Mil and Aranda is in for another $5.0 Mil.
Malzahn would be on the front burner wiht the fans for sure but they just extended his contract and gave him a big raise this off season. They would have to write a huuuuugggggeecheck to get rid of him.

which is exactly while people freaked the frick out when they saw the buyout for O.

even his biggest supporters have to admit to themselves that he was a very risky hire.
and he had no leverage in negotiating the buyout.

I agree. It just is what it is. We have to pay off Miles before we get antsy about coach shopping or someone is going to have to write some big checks.

The catch here is that if CEO did not have some decent guarantee he would not be able to recruit anybody of respectable caliber because of the de facto vote of no confidence.

The reason his buyout is so big is that he knows he wasn’t a popular hire and wanted protection from the quick trigger firings. Now i do agree that he had no leverage, so it all points back at Joe not being able to work a decent deal for LSU
