I’m a fan of putting his hand size as 9 2/8, opposed to the more common 1/4.

Going through a few links this happened with Goff too. It seems like it gets brought up every time a top first round QB measures in with small hands.

That measure is relative, of course. 9" span is about average for a 6' 2" to 6'3" adult male.

Here are some NFL QB hand span size under 9". and of course, many NFL QB's have had wider spans.

• Michael Vick: 8.50"

• Mike Perez: 8.75"

• John Friesz: 8.75"

• Tommy Hodson: 8.88"

• Jeff Blake: 8.50"

• T.J. Rubley: 8.75"

• Tonny Sacca: 8.75"

• Shane Matthews: 8.88"

• Steve Matthews: 8.88"

• Charlie Frye: 8.88"

• John David Booty: 8.50"

• Kevin O'Connell: 8.88"

• Tyler Wilson: 8.68"

• Brandon Allen: 8.88

Did you read the article?

The author says
quote:

In my opinion, the size Patrick Mahomes hands will not come up again before the NFL Draft and will not be a story line moving forward -- especially if he throws well at the Combine.

Not exactly a ringing enforcement for small handed QBs.

And he buried the equivocation 10 paragraphs deep in an 11 paragraph article.

Typical "concern troll" hedge. LOL!

How about 60 TD's, 76% completions, a Heisman and a Natty? How does that ring for ya?

Who is concerned? Bashers on this board?

Burrow will be the #1 draft pick whether you get over your "Concern Vapors" by April 23rd or not.

Or maybe they did have talent but their mini hands held them back?

Lester Earl - How far are you predicting that Burrow will fall in the NFL draft because of this "problem"?

I don’t think he falls at all

It’s never a good thing when you are in the 7th or 8th percentile of something.

That’s why scouting QBs is the hardest thing in any sport. He has the numbers & production.... but plenty of guys have failed with numbers & production.

You take it personal, but it is just data. Everyone’s hands get measured. Burrows are small. History tells us that most, not all, QBs with small hands do not prosper.

Most QBs don’t prosper.

There are tons of QBs with big hands who suck too.

I’m sensing a regression analysis may show that right around 9 inches may be optimal hand size for QBs.

Yes, that is my thinking as well.

Given the fact that Burrow smashed so many passing records against some of the best NFL-bound DBs in college football, around a 9" hand span may now become a prototypical measurable.

Mahomes and Tom Brady reinforce this theory.
