Great day to get him used to the stadium - not a big crowd, no fireworks. I am sure he is tired of being cooped up in his cage for the last 6 months. Maybe he will take to it much better than Mike VI {RIP}.

LOL - you could raise a herd of Holstein cows in that cage.

You think the solution to him being “cooped up” in his habitat is to put him in a much smaller cage?

Do you have a dog? Does he like going for a ride in your car, which is much smaller than your house/apt? It is the change of view that they like.

Actually I did....and when she was small, I did take her for car rides.

Bet you did not expect that answer.

I believe if he gets removed from his enclosure LSU loses its sanctuary status or whatever. Part of the deal for the new Mikes I guess.

Nothing on here surprises me. Like people who don't even realize that the university released a statement on January 19, 2017 regarding Mike not going into the stadium on gameday any more.

Responsible care for live exotic animals has evolved throughout the years, and LSU has evolved with it, as evidenced by the renovations to the tiger habitat in 1981 and the construction of an entirely new habitat in 2004-05. In that vein, LSU has decided that the tiger will not go into Tiger Stadium on home football game days. He will be out in his yard seven days a week. By having Mike in his yard on game days, it ensures that fans are able to see him throughout the day.

Not sure if you’re serious or not. One of the conditions for us getting Mike VII was that he not leave his habitat. He will not go to any football games or other events. They had to agree that he would not leave his habitat and had to make a bunch of renovations to get the habitat certified (even though it was already immaculate). His cooling/heating rock was one of the upgrades.

Short answer: No. he will never go to the games again.

I am aware of the new policy. Just would like to get the old tradition back - but I doubt it will ever happen. You could say I don't want to go away quietly.

I guess you have been living in a cave or serving in Afghanistan... LSU pretty much agreed to never take Mike into Tiger Stadium again for an event. This conceded to the PETA handlers we have now.
