Will Mondo Duplantis actually suit up for LSU track and field in 2019?

I know the Olympics aren't until 2020 so does LSU get one or two years out of him before Olympics?

What difference does it make?? Can't he go to the Olympics and then come back to school??

Amateurs can participate in the Olympics.

Collegiate track and field is nothing compared to the European meets he has been participating in recently.
If he continues on his current pace, he may be able to turn pro after 2020 Olympics and start making money.

I would be shocked if he isn't here for just one year.
He would then turn pro and have 15 months to train for the Olympics

He could turn pro now if he wanted to. I'm sure he has plenty of offers from the big shoe companies and pole manufacturers. And he wasn't the only impressive 17 year old in the Euro Championships. 17 year old Jacob Ingebrigtsen of Norway, who is signed to Nike, won the 1500, beating his 2 older brothers one of which won the 1500 at the last Euro championships. Then he came back the next day and won the 5000 meters.
