You idiots can cry about Miles' wins all you want! Only one record I'm concerned about and that is Saban 3-0 in national championships! Miles 1-1! Saban 2-0 at Alabama Miles 1-1 at LSU I really believe Saban could have made LSU into an dynasty had he stayed, he would probably be 5-0 at LSU and a modern day legend to a lot of you same clowns dogging him now.
We know this. It's been 8 fricking years since Saban has coached here. Get over it.

Miles 1-1 at LSU

But Saban is not here and all of your bitching about how shitty Miles is won't bring him back. He is a fricking gump now, get over it. He is not a legend here because he wanted to be a legend in the NFL. I would still love for him to be the LSU coach, but he is not and never will be. Miles is a "damn strong" replacement for him though.
Some of you butt hurt whiners need to start pulling for Alabama where your hero coaches.

I'd like to slap the Saban out of em.

I think why everybody likes Saban more because he keeps fans in a comfort zone. Saban's teams generally play as expected. I bet college games a lot and bama usually stays around the point spread. I think fans like where there are not a lot surprises. Where as you don't know what the frick you'll get out of a Mile's team. His teams can come out flat and undisciplined one week and then next week play above their heads and pound a team that was favored.. Almost lose to Troy but destroy a GA Tech team that was favored in their own front yard.

Meyer is 2-0 in BCS CG games. I could care less, he was just a guy in the way. Will always be grateful to Coach Saban for turning the club around. Saban@UA is just a guy in the way. There is a bizarre effing mindset floating around in LSU land.

I don't give a shite about Saban. I am not interested in comparing Miles or any other coach LSU may have in the future to Saban. Saban is gone.
But, people need to remember that the definition of "good coach" is different in college. IE, a great "coach" who sucks at recruiting will fail in college and an average "coach" who kids love to play for will tend to do pretty well.
Miles has been able to continue the good recruiting started before and as such, will continue to have good results. In college, that's obviously what it's all about and Kudos to him.
I even think that Miles seems to be pretty darned good at the game prep portion of coaching.
But, if you gave everyone equal players and recruiting wasn't in the equation, I think Miles would get outcoached fairly often on game day. He has WAY too many "WTF" moments on game day. Those aren't just Miles being the mad hatter. They've just been plain stupid too often for it to be coincidence.

Bogus. It's been proved time and again that coaching >>>>>>> talent. If you need illustration, look at Arkansas this year.
The idea that Les just bludgeons opponents into submission with superior talent alone is sheer lunacy. Look at all three wins against Saban, the last two wins vs Florida, the last win vs South Carolina.
Gutsy calls by the Mad Hatter were the diffrence in those games.

If I'd said that Miles couldn't coach at all or that he never made ANY good decisions in games, you'd have a point.
I simply observed that he has had MORE than his share of COMPLETE brain farts in games. Enough that you can't call it unusual.
Miles is a perfectly decent game day coach who recruits well. Yes, a COMPLETELY shitty coach can overcome good talent. I didn't say Miles was a shitty coach.
But, in my view, he's far from great too. He's just a pretty decent coach who has better players on the field than his opponent at least 8 times per year if not 10.

Lets not remove any part of "great coaching" from the equation-- recruiting, rankings, conference titles, national titles, etc. (although, the outcome -- a W or an L is the end goal) Who has outperformed Miles? I'd dare say, he is in an elite group.

I think Les is a real gentleman & a great recruiter, but not a great game time coach. Once his game plan is in place he refuses to adjust, like other coaches. It may be our down fall in the swamp.

but the stubbornness that miles displayed
Les's stubbornness is going to cost this team two or three games this year.

Or it may be the key to our victory. I'm not saying Les is perfect (far from it) but to say that he is not a great head coach is to be willfully ignorant of the facts.

Les's refusal to recognize the offensive line problems is disheartening.

I bet people on here do not realize that bear bryant in the late 60's and early 70's went through a span of losing 8 bowl games and tied his 9th. He also had 4 seasons where he went 8-2-1, 8-3,6-5,6-5-1. Now days that would have got him fired. He also only had one or two undefeated seasons.
