September 23, 2000, LSU loses to UAB at Tiger Stadium 10–13. Coach? Saban

But this LSU squad was not making a run at a national title

utah- was 6th in the country & undefeated, not a bad loss imo.

No, that was an embarassing loss for Bama. An SEC conf runner-up getting smacked around by a MWC team is embarassing.

utah was 6th in the country & undefeated. how is that embarrassing? saban got whipped, no doubt. but no shame in losing to the 6th ranked team, no matter the coach or team.

No! he wins but it's usually sloppy and UGLY.
Saban wins clean/ tactfully.

Except when he loses ugly, untactfully.

Not many people gave LSU a chance against either Miami or Ga. Tech in the bowl games. Remember how those turned out?

The point everyone is trying to make is that every once in a while, Saban will lose a game he shouldn't, to a team that has much less talent.

Not saying which one is the better coach yet, because no one knows what the future holds. I'm glad Les Miles is our coach.

i thought miami would be a 17-14 13-10 game, glad i was wrong tech, i didn't think lsu had a chance in hell with the way the defense played during the season, again glad i was wrong

IF, and its a big if, Miles had won the NC game last year he would be 4-2 vs Saban. IF Oklahoma State makes a chip shot field goal against Iowa State Bama wouldn't have even been in the game. Either way Miles would have been considered the better coach by many. Particularly considering the poor coaching job Saban did in the regular season matchup (long field goal attempts vs playing field position.)

A lot of so called "smart" coaches have failed ex. Butch Davis at North Carolina, Petrino at Arkansas (compared to Louisville), Rich Rod at Michigan, etc. Despite many fans perception of Miles he has kept us relevant, and at least in the conversation of a NC pretty much every year since he's been here. I can live with that.

the crue....

BUT...les lost to the #2 and that is shameful.

sorry, but my opinion is that you could use a lot of help in letting go of resentments.
resentments are kinda like taking poison so the other person will die.

The 2008 squad that beat Troy was not making a title run either. 6-3 and ranked 19th. The Troy game was ugly, no doubt. But please stop trying to make an ugly loss more palatable than an ugly win.

But that is the NegaMiles deal. Every loss is shameful. Hell, if you listen to these guys most of Miles wins are shameful. I am just glad he has so many of those shameful wins.

was a big fan of JL, but subbing Lee in for JJ wouldn't have gained us much, given the way our OL was playing.

Thank you Nostradamus.

HE SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST GIVEN IT A SHOT. If JL can stand up vs the Green Bay defense he might have vs Bama

the saddest part of the negative posters is that this is a very easy read of some very sick psychological people. they think they are smart b/c they can say negative things.

a very easy read. i am learning to have more compassion. practice patience and they always hurt themselves. they are trying so hard to hurt miles that they trip over their own thinking. haters gotta hate. but, first is self-hate.

You idiots can cry about Miles' wins all you want! Only one record I'm concerned about and that is Saban 3-0 in national championships!
Miles 1-1!

Saban 2-0 at Alabama
Miles 1-1 at LSU

I really believe Saban could have made LSU into an dynasty had he stayed, he would probably be 5-0 at LSU and a modern day legend to a lot of you same clowns dogging him now.
