What has he done on the field to make you think that?

Bigger and stronger doesn't equate to better

Chase has a chance to be great but Jarvis and Odell had that special something that you don't get to see often

He's not the only WR on the squad with huge potential.
Even some of the upperclassmen could bloom late but end up being awesome WRs.
Looks like McMath, Marshall or Chase could be very good.

The guy looks and acts the part. Given his reps/PT, he is making an impact. Would love to see him get a ball across the middle where we can see the YAC. He and Marshall are going to be tough to defend in the out years.

While I think he looks impressive so far, let's talk about it after he surpasses one of these career marks:

Most receiving yards: 3001, Josh Reed
Most receptions: 183, Wendell Davis
Most receiving yards per reception: 19.6, Andy Hamilton
Most touchdowns: 26, Dwayne Bowe

I think he will be a star at LSU and in the NFL. But safe money is that he won't go down as the best WR in LSU history.

God do some of you even think for a split second before making these foolish posts?! And we wonder why people on the SEC Rant think that majority of LSU posters are complete imbeciles.

This dude is a TRUE FRESHMAN that has only played in 5 games at the max (not sure if he even actually played in everyone) and you make a post asking if he will be the best WR in the history of LSU football?

He has a looooonggggg ladder to climb to catch some of these greats, just to name a few off the top of my head...

Josh Reed
Michael Clayton
Wendell Davis
OBJ
Juice
Dwayne Bowe
Brandon LaFell
Early Doucet
Buster Davis
Eric Martin

Did you just somehow forget about those guys there? Sure, Chase has tremendous talent and the POTENTIAL to be the best ever, but asking us WILL HE after only 5 games into his college career is just plain retarded.

In all defense, which is crazy to think I’m defending the OP, but Chase has 7 receptions as a FR. Bowe had 9 and Reed had 8.
So, the jury is still out, he would need a monster SO and JR year to top those two in yards.

As a freshman he looks much bigger and stronger than Odell and Jarvis as freshmen.

Jarvis was far stronger than Chase as a freshman.
