Will Ensminger take advantage of the talent at WR?
Posted by Flem on 2/13/18 at 9:12 pm616
Can not waste the talent at WR that LSU has now.
Eaux don’t get in the way. Lets be Pass first.
Steve make it happen.
Returners (7): So. Justin Jefferson, Jr. Stephen Sullivan, Jr. Drake Davis, Jr. Dee Anderson, RJr. Derrick Dillon, So. Racey McMath, So. Mannie Netherly
Newbies (5): RJr. Jonathan Giles, Fr. Terrace Marshall, Fr. Kenan Jones, Fr. Jaray Jenkins
Ja’Marr Chase

OL line coach received positive comments from players he has coached. Give the QB time and LSU will be able to compete with anyone.
The QB needs to be able to read the defense and look off players.
We'll see what happens.

For the first time in awhile we don't have a stacked backfield, so it stands to reason we'll be throwing the ball more in 2018. I'm no coach, but that just seems logical to me.
[from Dandy Don]
Terrace Marshall
WR 6-4, 202, Bossier City, LA (Parkway)
(1st in our poll with 21.4% of the votes)
It's hard not to be excited about Terrace Marshall, who has the potential to become one of the best playmakers in LSU history. He was, after all, the unanimous No. 1 prospect in the state, and the No. 2 wide receiver in the nation by 247Sports. On top of that, he’s walking into an ideal situation with LSU having lost its top two wide receivers and devoting itself to an upgraded passing game with Steve Ensminger taking over as offensive coordinator. Marshall’s smooth stride and acceleration will make him a threat to score every time he has the ball and his explosion out of his cuts and change of direction will make him tough to defend on short routes. Marshall missed his senior season with an injury but caught 55 balls for 1,250 yards and 15 TDs as a junior. Here are a few video highlights.
Marshall will have to learn how to block and fight through physical SEC defensive backs, but as an early enrollee, he will get a lot of coaching in spring practice. Look for this in-state sensation to be in the starting lineup, or at least among the top three receivers, when LSU kicks off the 2018 season.
One more tidbit on Marshall: His uncle is deceased former NFL star running back Joe Delaney. How’s that for bloodline?

Using little Fournette just for the sake of nostalgia
Might as well give him the #7 also

It’s still like the twilight zone to me that we are here today talking about what Steve Ensminger is going to do as OC at LSU.
Is this really happening? When are we going to wake up from the nightmare?

Pretty impressive how in two short years, O has managed to gut the team at the two positions that have been the most stacked with talent: RB and CB.

When you say talent at the wide receiver position do you mean
POTENTIAL??
We don't have a guy on the roster that has any real game experience.

No thanks.
Let's be pass capable so teams respect it, then run all over them.

It's funny how much some have riding on Ensminger sucking.
When he was good at this very university but 2 years ago.

Yep. Whether or not it can be done effectively with a new OC and first year starter learning his 2nd offense in as many years is another question. It's a lot of pressure to put on a new QB. Thankfully, the OL should be reasonably stable this year.

Such a weak argument. He took someone else's offense and beat up on some shite defenses. Sure, it looked a little more efficient against said shite defenses than what we were used to but it's hardly reason enough to give him the keys to the damn thing. Especially when you consider 10 combined points against the two best defenses we faced with Ensminger at the interim. Yes, I know, we put up a lot of yards against UF. But Les's offenses had good games against good defenses on occasion too. Maybe Ensminger has been the answer waiting in the wings all along and will shock the world. Logic tells me that's not the most likely outcome. We'll all find out eventually.

How many points did we score va Florida and Bama?
Those were the 2 top 50 defenses we faced.
We need to be good not just good vs shitty defenses.

The company line! How much did other teams score against those D's? I'll hang up and listen.
