re: Why was A&M able to get Jimbo in one year when we couldn't get him in 2?

Money and Alleva obviously played a giant role, but on Jimbo's end is where this year was different. The time was right, and things over there went downhill quickly after the weekend and the season they've had.

If Jimbo was demanding 7.5 for 10 years I hope Alleva to go frick himself. That's fricking stupid

It also doesn't hurt that he's good friends with his boss over there, either.

Because A&M believes that overpaying for something makes it better. They would have given him 100 million/10 years if he had asked.

How the frick Alleva wasn’t fired the second Jimbo resigned for Aggie is beyond me.
Does anyone intheLSUAdministration actually think we’re okay??

Are we just ignoring Francois being out for basically the entire season to shite on Jimbo?

That's still no excuse for going 6/6 in the ACC when you recruit at the level Florida State does.

He was less vulnerable when he was winning, more reason to stay at FSU.

Because LSU decision makers were smarter and knew Fisher is not worth this kind of money.

Believe me it was all talk by Alleva! O was the man from day one. The AD at Tennessee did the same thing but got caught. Alleva wanted Miles gone and to get board approval he had a certain amount to spend. Jimbo was never a real player!

My boss is a huge FSU fan. According to him, Jimbo wanted to stay at FSU, but after another year of trying to strong arm FSU to get his way, he burned his last bridge. 7 of 9 assistants were rumored to be leaving the program and players planning mutiny. Seems as if there was nothing left in Tallahassee for him.

I see various complaints about the cost of going to the games, does anyone out there know where the money tree is located. No way LSU can compete with several schools in the SEC when it comes to money.

I actually don't hate O. I thought he deserved the interim job at USC. While I would have preferred we hire Dan Mullen or Tom Herman, while I was skeptical of the hire (especially after the Florida loss), I wasn't totally against it. And you know what, after struggling early this season, he turned it around. Getting this team to 9-3 and beating Auburn was pretty impressive after starting 3-2. I am cautiously optimistic of seeing how Ogeron develops this program. While I'm not yet convinced he's going to dethrone Alabama, I'm also not convinced he's going to let the wheels completely fall off and bring us back to the Hallman years, either.

I’m not thrilled with O or Alleva. I simply don’t think JIMBO is the savior most thought/thinks he is.

He was HCIW at FSU for 3 or 4 years, so it isn’t like he inherited a program in complete disarray. He basically inherited a team he helped build. With the exception of the NC year, he had season records that nearly everyone wanted Miles’ fired over. This isn’t a pro-Miles Post, just a factual observation based on Year-end records.

Time will tell, but if I were to lay money on it, I’d still bet against JIMBO being the right guy.
