They're critical of the firing because paying $16million to replace him with a guy who most likely won't have a better record at LSU is fricking stupid.

So how many more 3-5 loss seasons will it take for you to be cool with letting him go? Also - are you footing the 15 mil?

You know why the big money people have 15 mill to toss around for the buyout? Because they have balls and aren't afraid to take calculated risks to better themselves.

My reluctance to hire Jimbo Fisher has kept me from being a billionaire?

Damn, I have to admit, that's a fresh take on the situation.

In reality, most of us that have been following LSU for years aren't that confident that a great hire will be made. We don't have a history of home run hires.

But a change does need to be made, I just still have this nightmare that we'll end up with a Nutt or a Tuberville....

Barely beat them the yr before the 2 losses.
How are they even competing with us? Makes no sense.

No but fear of failure certainly could keep u from reaching your potential. And that's what you're showing in this thread.

You think it's a coincidence all the bama and au posters are all over these threads saying we should keep miles? How it would be a biiiig mistake, etc.
we said the same about Shula.

I explained why we made terrible hires in an earlier post. We were cheapskates.

And thanks for playing.
It's amazing that there are still doofuses on the internet who use this dialup-era snarky phrase.

LSU spent very little on Dinardo and his coaching staff. The facilities weren't great either.

And I hate fans that are content with getting our asses kicked by ole miss arky and bama and too afraid of failing to do anything about it.

Content?so when I say," it's time for a new head coach at lsu " you take that as I'm content with Miles and losing to arky and Ole miss?

Firing the most successful coach in your pprogram's history is only a calculated risk IF you have a better coach lined up. If you don't have one lined up its just ignorant.

getting our asses kicked

I love how some lsu fans demand excellence while not sacrificing anything to make lsu football team better.
they shite on top 15 finishes where lsu player sacrificed blood, sweat, and tears to reach that top 15 finish. They shite on that top 15 finish while never, themselves, coming close to achieving something like that in any sport.

I actually had a lsu poster say,"I see you've never played sports.A top 15 finish is bullshite. You think those players will be telling their grandkids about how they finished in the top 15?"

Yes they lost certainly will because finishing in the top 15 whole playing in the hardest division cfb has ever known is a great accomplishment.

Wait... Didn't you just express disdain for private donors ponying up $15 million of their own money to buy out Les' contract?

You need to look up the john cooper era at Ohio state. Very similar to where we are now. Losing to rivals but still making bowls. They were good but not great. Could have played it safe and kept him but they went and hired tressel and look where they are now. We're at that crossroads and if reports are correct we do have a top tier coach lined up, and that's what put all this in motion.
