Why The Vitriol for CCU?

I don't get the "CC will be 2 and Q" passion on this board. It comes across as petty, childish, and irrational.
LSU had a great season and overachieved in a BIG way. Just go back and look at all the preseason prediction threads if you can't remember.
The David and Goliath story is as old as... The Bible itself. It's a feel good story. This is the greatest moment in the sports history of Coastal Carolina. For LSU, a speedbump.
I will be rooting for a CWS final series between UCSB and CC.
I've got my Goldfish in a Baggie, on my way out the door.

Or ya know, its objective.
They dont have the pitching depth. Even their 11-1 ace yesterday gave up a ton of hits against us, and we simply left too many runners on.
We hit everyone they threw out there and our offense isnt as potent as ones they will see in the tourney. The long ball isnt how you win at TDA.

Congrats to CCU, loved their aggressive style, especially on the bases. Not their fault our clutch hitting disappeared.

say what you want about that guy but he's a ballplayer. i would love 9 of those guys on a daily basis. dirty uniform, plays with some nuts, and isnt scared to display his emotions. a lot of times when i watch lsu, its like im watching a bunch of robots. with the exception of a few players, i find myself wondering how much they really care. not saying that they dont, but i just enjoy guys playing with some fire all nine innings. not just when they feel it necessary to do so.

It's childish and petty but quite rational. It comes from self-loathers who use sports teams as substitutes for their own lack of accomplishments. When their team fails they must isolate a culprit (head coach, QB, offensive coordinator, Javi, etc.) and excoriate him for betraying the otherwise noble team. In this way they buttress their own ego without having to go find another team to support, or heaven help them, having to go out and accomplish something on their own.

Totally. Plays his guts out, great enthusiasm the entire series, making plays and relentlessly working counts on the opposing pitchers...there's a lot to hate there

LSU plays with plenty of emotion. Kramer is one of the most emotional guys out there. Newman showed emotion after ending the 8th. Deichmann is an emotional player.
Marks is just trashy. He went 2/9 with a couple of infield hits (both should have been errors), but his antics have everyone believing he was good this weekend.
