Just like Orgeron, they kept living in 2019 thinking Brennan would just pick up where Burrow left off. Newsflash, Burrow was the best to ever do it in college.

They point to the stats from 2020’s first 3 games. 3 really bad defenses where LSU had to just throw it as they were in catch up mode due to a shitty LSU defense.

I was pulling for him due to his story and all. Seems like a good guy, but if you are a pocket passer you can’t be scared in the pocket (Brennan has happy feet under pressure) and be a statue. Pocket passers must be mobile within the pocket a la Drew Brees. Brees would step up and to the side as he felt the pressure. That is a natural born talent that Myles doesn’t have.

I wish him nothing but the best. I’m sure he’ll be a success in business in this state with his demeanor, name recognition, and family name. He’ll be an example of why staying home makes sense even if your LSU career doesn’t go as planned.

I think this is the main thing people were pulling for him for. He'd been at LSU for so long and had so many setbacks it would have been awesome to see him go out and finally get a full season starting after all he's been through.

I'm glad Kelly didn't just give him the job out of seniority though, he was going to have to earn it and he just didn't. Wish him well going forward and wish it could have turned out better for him but he'll be fine.

Because he was intelligent with a howitzer… that’s about as good as it gets. Burrow was once in a lifetime: we need to realize 2/3 ain’t bad.

Where were you with this ground breaking analysis of how bad Myles is two weeks ago?

Honestly you couldn't find a mobile qb if he ran you over in a parking lot.

Brenan passed so much not because of playing against shitty defenses, LSU had no running game, and hasn't had one since 2019. I'm not saying he was a great runner. But sacks and yards off planned qb options are completely different.
Burrow knew when to pack it in and run. He's not a running qb. The OL Brennan had sucked and those that played after Brennan got hurt sucked. LSU hasn't had a running game at all to help QB play. And it affects how a defense can bull rush a QB.
I think Kelly only asked Brennan to return for depth. I say that because Daniel's wasn't impressive in the spring yet came in and split time with Nuss with the first team. Brennan was a camp arm at best for Kelly.
If Daniel's starts great but I have watched his last year highlights, (all of them) wasn't impressed. Good running qb's excites the crowds, Really good ones get their team in the end zone and win games. Daniel's running stats look good. But against the few teams that had wining records there was very big drop off.
I have to pull for him, looks like he was the starter when he landed in BR.

I like Kelly but I never would have allowed a QB to take players to California without the other QB's invited. This isn't the NFL and Daniel's wasn't named the starter yet. That could have back fired and hope that doesn't happen again.

Actually, my entire life I’ve waited for my school to have a savvy 5th year senior at QB. I’ve always been envious of teams that have that.

Instead, they ran him off. Oh well.

You mean like Burrow. He was a 5th year senior. I think Matt Flynn and Etling were too.

I question your agenda and true allegiance to LSU based on your comments above. It’d be nice to have an experienced 5th year senior with a high football IQ and all that, sure.

But Brennan couldn’t win the job. Apparently he’s not that guy and that’s ok. There comes a point for every athlete where they have to realize it’s over. He has nothing to be ashamed of and there’s no bad guy here. He just didn’t have it and his heart obviously isn’t it anymore. I’d rather he be honest about that than be out there leading the Tigers on Saturday with half a heart invested in what he’s doing

Moral of the story: this is LSU, not frickin Rudy. Myles never had that dog in him. He always preferred the deer stand to the film room, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

He was/ is a very accurate passer. We have a very good receiver corp and decent to good running backs. If the line can protect I figured they could pick people apart. Either miles never healed all the way or we need that threat of run because of line issues. Or Daniels is also very accurate and just had a bad day at spring game.

I was super excited when he came back and thought he was a lock for at least the first snap against FSU, but the fact that he didn't take the job by the throat against an incoming transfer and a RS Freshman is pretty telling. I actually see that as a positive sign, because if Brennan is a pretty good QB and couldn't take it from the other two and got passed up, that speaks well for the other two.

I also don't blame him for stepping away. Sometimes a phase of your life is over and it's better to accept it and move on than to try to keep forcing a passion that just isn't there anymore.

He quit. Live with it. Lying to yourself won’t help.
Brennan is smarter than you are. He saw the future and decided to take a different path. No problem for anyone who takes the time to think about it.

Yeah I am having a hard time understanding the negative of a guy wanting to practice with his teammates.

I think people were pulling for Brennan because those people wanted a pure passing QB. After years of Miles putting dual-threat guys in a pro system, a lot of us get excited about pure passers because it feels like that’s what we should’ve been running all along. His journey is remarkable as well. Either way, I wish him the best and can’t wait to see who we name the starter.

One qb took the initiative to build chemistry with his wrs

The other one that ppl seem to love stayed back with his gf and got NIL deals for not a damn thing

But the one who took initiative is in the wrong
