So because the coaches don't get along it's ok to settle for a one game series instead of trying to play at least one early game today before the rain arrives around 5PM

wow you don't get sarcasm do you? No I think they should attempt to play 2 today. 11am then 6:30. The excuse being given is that the 6:30 game is locked in by the conference because of ESPNU showing it. I have no idea if this is true or how much control LSU has over this. Supposedly the conference won't allow it because if the first game went extras it would risk disrupting the broadcast of the 6:30 game. My argument is start tomorrows game today at 11am that will give you plenty of time unless something crazy happens. Basically they are gambling on a all or nothing scenario.

There's no guarantee that tonight's game will be played as it's a 50-70% chance if rain after 5pm. Tomorrow it's a 100% chance of rain

This was already posted twice in this thread but some people still don't seem to get it.

On the post game show, Bill asked Paul about playing two on Saturday. Paul responded with this:

"We played two on Saturday in Vanderbilt because Saturday was absolutely gorgeous weather and Sunday had 100% chance of rain, so we knew we could get two games in. I talked with Coach Cohen and we decided that we may be in a situation because of the ESPN game where we start an early game 2, it gets rain delayed for 3 hours and then we'd have to start Game 3, the ESPN game before we finished Game 2."

Then he went on to say the quote in the OP. So it was a decision made by both coaches.

As a Tiger in Chicago, I'm pumped for the ESPN game, only way I can watch. I think an issue here is the logistical nightmare of having a spring game, Gymnastics NCAA meet and the game on the same day, all things being equal I'm sure an 11am would have worked.

Could they play game 3 Monday?

I'm in South Mississipi and it's sunny and beautiful right now would be perfect for a noon first pitch. But I guess we couldn't get a game in according to ESPN.

ZERO chance any game is played tomorrow

when u throw at mason katz' head i'd say that burns some bridges, Cohen needs to consciously think about things before he pulls some shite like that again

......to note i'm with you on the whole play one starting at noon today, but i can see why cpm may be wanting to stick it to CJC

Don't take a genius to see it's a 100% chance of rain tomorrow. You can't start a game after 3 as well so no matter how great the box drains etc flash flood t-storms will keep us from playing tomorrow

they could be in a situation where they start the first game tomorrow afternoon, it gets rain delayed, and then they have to start the next one for TV, when they haven't finished the first one. Or something like that..

This happened to State last year against auburn I believe.

Game 1 was suspended in the 4th or so due to weather.

Game 2 on Sat was a TV game around 1pm. They played game 2 first then finished game 1.

I'm guessing he REALLY wishes he had been right now.

Good job for not giving the mutt the ammo he needed to say "they scared", which is what he was after.
