.but OK...doesnt really mean our batters will hit better because they see better pitchers during a weekend series before SEC.

it sure wouldn't hurt.

i feel like we are going in circles here. im not about to waste time looking for data on this, but as i said, anyone that has played organized sports will vouch that they become better players by playing against other good players. We have yet to play a team that can even field routine balls. Its pathetic.

He was also a top 10 overall pick out of High school. He was a top 5 arm in college baseball when he stepped on the field for the 1st time

Ya..but TCU could have won the CWS if they only would have played better competition.

Ya..im pretty damn sure you would be wasting your time on this..

Anyway..im beginning to think im approaching LSURussian post count in this thread. I just happen to disagree with the premise that preseason competition affects LSU's SEC record. I looked for data over the last 30 years to support such a theory and couldnt find it...so its JMHO.

Yeah, they didn't play Fullerton or San Diego St. or Oklahoma or Rice or Missouri.

I am done...at least until crappy arse LSURussian comes in and says some condescending arse bullshite.

we want to cruise a few series, not have to be as aggressive, and tune up for a tough schedule

what about trying to fill open positions with players that will have to hit SEC pitching?

We know what we have based on the above.

what about raising the level of play from our veterans by playing better teams?
We play 'better teams' every year. It's just not reasonable to expect a top tier team to come to the Box every weekend.

what about another 6-9 games against teams with a pulse?
Wake Forest has won 3 out of the 4 games they have played since LSU swept them, including a win over Minnesota, which is a perennial regional participant. (They have played at LSU's regional twice in the past 7 years.)

So does Wake Forest not have a pulse?

You really need to get informed about college baseball before you make such obviously ignorant statements.
