Top 4 seeds get a first round bye and the bowls can serve as the sites for the playoff games.

It can run two weeks behind the NFL Playoffs and still keep the student athletes on schedule with classes?

because they are college athletes who are not being paid for the physical toll an additional playoff round will take on them physically. The ncaa will not go for this,,,it is about the education these student athletes receive.. ....

That's a lot of traveling. For the players and fans.
Can you imagine having to play Bama, Arkansas, aTm, SECCG then 4 weeks of playoffs? Talk about brutal.
Personally I liked the BCS...win the SECCG and you're in the Natty. End of story

Because the League insists we play Rent A Wins, drop those and it works!

FCS does a 24 team playoff. I don't see why the FBS can't bump the playoff teams up from 4

8 teams, 3 weeks. Take the 5 conference champs and the 3 highest at larges regardless of conference affiliation. You're welcome.

You still would have to win your conference and having the first round bye like in the NFL would be huge in College as well.

The regular season would still mean everything. I hate the term that people say the regular season wouldn't mean anything, um yes it would.

no, it wouldn't mean jack shite.

a team could lose 3 games (the only 3 good teams they play all year) and look so shitty in two of them that they fire their head coach and still make the playoffs.

that is the pretty much exact definition of the regular season not meaning shite.

That is just stupid. The regular season means a lot more all the way to the end.

[poll]40[/poll]

Eliminate 1 game from reg season (non conf Cupcake)
8 team playoff
Power 5 Champs
3 at large
Champion

I personally think 12 gets a bit too dilutive.

I also think the current system makes the regular season somewhat meaningless if you slip up early playing a tough schedule. If you take the rankings of the current top 15, I bet their SOS doesn't have a logical correlation to their W/L record.

At most, I'd say six. A bye as a reward for the top 2 teams, with 3-6 playing in the first round. The only potential problem with that, is the amount of time off for the top 2 teams could actually be a disadvantage.

You get up to 8, and that's a lot of games.

Season would be tooooo long. Ncaa is way ahead of you. That's why the regular season went from 11 games to 12, because the nccaa is against the playoffs.

Need 16 to have a real playoff.
Every other level of College Football has a 16 team playoff.
The format already exists.

Top 8 seeds play at home. Bottom 8 seeds travel.

Championship Game rotates based on bids for game.

Bowls are like NIT. Teams can go to Bowls if they don't make the playoffs. Face it, most Bowls mean nothing already.

Makes too much sense. They won't go for it.
