Why are people acting like this was a once in a lifetime LSU football roster?

Specifically talking about the offense. I keep hearing people say that all the stars had to align perfectly for us to have so many playmakers on offense this year.
LSU has always had tons of weapons on offense; we just never utilized them. Do you think guys like OBJ, Juice, Lafell, Reuben Randle, Chark, Dupre, Dural, Quinn, Tyron Johnson, Diarse, Shepard might have been pretty decent in this offense? You think Fournette, Guice, Jeremy Hill, and Spencer Ware might have done OK in Clyde's role?
The biggest key this year was the SCHEME. Of course Joe Burrow is a generational talent, and we likely will never sniff the numbers he put up but all you need is a capable QB to have great success with this scheme and our stud skill players.
If Ensminger truly absorbed everything that Brady brought here and O can bring in someone with a background in spread playcalling, the fun is going to continue.

I still think the 2006 team might be the most all around talented LSU team i've ever seen

It’s not often you have a QB who has the best season ever for a QB

U would be wrong! This year team is the best team in LSU history!

Like I said, we will likely never have a QB as good as Burrow. But I'm talking about the rest of the skill players.

Better than 2011?

Because it was...
It would’ve been a once in a lifetime roster for any program.
That doesn’t mean we won’t be competitive or reach the Playoffs with a future roster.

Because almost the whole offense was NFL caliber. QB, WRs, RB, TE, most and could end up being the whole OL will be playing in the NFL and most will be drafted in the top half of it. That's pretty damn rare. Sure, LSU has had some great skill players and a few of them on the same team at the same time, but never a QB like Joe and never has the majority of them been starters at the same time like this years team.
And pretty much the same thing could be said about the defense. They'll have a ton of high draft picks off that defense. We had a damn freshman CB that played like he was a 5th year senior.

Yes. That 2011 offense wasn’t world beaters or anything. That defense is what made that 2011 team.

as an overall team, yes
offense and defense
the 2011 defense was great, but talent-wise, the starting 22 in 2006 were incredible.
If it wasn't for Jimbo or Les's unwillingness to open up the offense we win that Auburn game and get another shot at Florida in the SEC championship

I agree 100%
im talking about the talent on the roster in 2006, not the production of the team

Come on man. Knowing what you know now, do you really think it was Jimbo who refused to pass that ball that day? That game plan had Les Miles’ fingerprints all over it.

But how much of that is based on what they did this year alone? Guys like Chase, Jefferson, Marshall, and Moss would have had the same fate as all those other receivers on the Miles/early O teams if we still tried to run our old scheme. Moss probably would have 3 catches on the year in a Miles offense.
Not trying to take anything away from these guys, just pointing out that this level of talent is not unusual for LSU in the last 20 years.

The biggest key to our success was Burrow. Not Brady or scheme.

Offense: players that will play in the NFL:
Burrow
Edwards - hellaire
Jefferson
Chase
Marshall
MOSS
CUSHENBERRY
Lewis
Magee
Chance to make a NFL roster: defulus and Charles as guards.
Yes that is an elite roster.

You kind of answered your own question with this
quote:

This team was once in a lifetime roster because you had that generational QB. Doesn’t mean there won’t be other great teams at LSU but you will never see what we just witnessed ever again possibly anywhere in the country. LSU just had the best statistical offensive season in 150 years of college football.

I can’t even put up Burrow-type numbers on Xbox unless I lower the difficulty level.
I mean, he had more than double the TD passes (single season) than anyone else ever in the history of LSU football (Russel with 28). He had almost 3 times the TD passes that our last championship QB threw (Flynn, 21), and almost 4 times as many as he threw in 2018.
Granted, Joe played a couple more games than Russel or Flynn, but those numbers are still just absurd.

I mean it’ll be very tough to have another season like this season but we don’t even have to be as dominant as we were this season to win another natty. We didn’t even need Burrow to be this good for us to win it all. We have so much talent that we only need a good QB, doesn’t have to be a heisman QB, just a good QB.
People act like we don’t recruit well and don’t think we’re a national powerhouse for some reason. They think we’re going to go back to being a 8-4 or 9-3 team. The only way we go back to that is if we get too conservative on offense again. As long as we’re able to keep the schemes and gameplan that Brady had here, we should still be able to win 10 games at the very least almost every single year
