Why are fans expecting 9-10 wins from a team that’s barely ranked in the preseason?

Because preseason rankings don't matter.

In 2015, Stanford went from #21 to #3. Finished 12-2.

We started at #16 in 2003 and went on to win the National Championship.

Who says we can't win 9-10 this year?

Strong defense. QB play bound to be an improvement. Big WRs. Lack of a RB is perceived to be the only drawback.

I can see how 10 wins is possible. I can also see how 6 wins is the outcome.

Nobody knows what LSU actually has...

Is the QB going to be good?
Is the defense going to be an upgrade?
Will the Offense be able to move the ball with their crazy tall/athletic receivers?
Who's going to step as RB1?...is he good?
Is Fehoko going to show out?
Who's going to step up as the 2nd CB?

All we know is that Devin White and Greedy Williams are really good.

People predicting 10+ wins are just as dumb as those predicting 4-6 wins.

Because our team has crapped out 9-10 win season almost every year for a decade.

Expectations don’t change.

Whether we can live up to them does.

Why do fans seem content on being ranked #25 to start the season now?

UGA started last year #15 and played in the natty but #15 and #16 does not equal being ranked #25

Because we were told how awesome the off-season was We have depth now and the defense is the best in the nation. O hired the best OC and got a qb that would’ve started everywhere but Ohio state. He got a legend Jerry Sullivan to coach receivers and a super bowl winning offensive line coach. Also the most conditioned team in moffits tenure. I’m ready for greatness

Well, if you’re looking at preseason rankings.... we only play 5 teams on our schedule that are ranked ahead of us.... and 3 of those 5 are LSU home games. Really 4 if you count Miami as a “home game”

I don’t think it’s too much to ask that LSU win 2 of those 5 and win the rest of the games that we should win. That sets the floor at 9-3.

I could ask you why you and others put so much stock in preseason rankings.

They aren't expecting 9-10.

They want someone other than Orgeron, so they demand a standard that's unrealistic.

When he doesnt meet it they can claim that was the expectation and call for his head.

Also, they can say they knew we would suck under O when we dont meet their false "bar."

So they can feel better about themselves.
