Nick Saban is the reason why we lost Surtain. He fricked us when he left us to the nfl, when he came back to bama, when he bitch slapped us ln the 2011, and he will continue to do that until he retires. Don’t blame the loss on anything else. You younger guy should be thankful that you have not had to live through this twice. Just jCharles McClendon and bear Bryant all over again.

Surtain to Alabama is admissible. However any Louisiana kid that goes to Bama is dead to me. Why would you go the safe route instead of representing your home state ? Why go from the most integrated state in the country to the most racist state like Alabama that is still putting up statues while we tear them down ? If u are from Louisiana and go to Bama stay in gump villa for life with no culture.

What a pathetic melt.

It's college football.

You stupid coonass frick, this administration has totally fricked over this program with their shite hires.

Orgeron is a fricking joke. Can't coach, can't recruit, and every other SEC school around us has hired better coaches.

Until F King, Alleva, and O are gone, this team will continue to downward spiral. But, enjoy keeping your head in the sand.

His last 2 classes in 15 and 16 were ranked #5 and #2 and included 10 OL. 15 was too light on DL but 16 had 9 DL/LB and 4 OL.

this myth that he didn't recruit OL towards the end is just silly

like a million left the program...when O became permanent

Like all in the same week right? I can't remember well but I seem to remember it as a mass exodus.

“They win chanpionships” is not the answer for an alpha personality. It’s a follower mentality.

Alphas believe they are the piece that wins championships.

This class will end up around 10. But while you’re mocking our “3 stars” there are at least 2-3 guys that I know that Nick Saban really wanted, like Rosenthal & Nelson Jenkins. I think in the end this class out performs their rankings.

Bull shite. Gerry Freaking DiNardo took over after 6 losing seasons and landed the #1 recruit in the nation in Faulk along with Booger Todd McClure and some others. He went 10-2 in year 2. Saban of course landed an all time class in 2001 and won the SEC in year 2.

So you’re not even going to give him the chance to see what happens in year 2? We’ll have to see improvements, a top 5 class, or else I’ll be right along with you. Coach O’s career does not hinge on Patrick Surtain.

is this class good enough to create a foundation to overtake the class that Bama signed this year? or UGA? or hell, Auburn?

Between last year & this year we should be able to compete with anyone. Overtake bama? Lol get real

We have 2 QBs, retooled OL & DL. Great great LB’s & DBs. We’ve added the top WR in the nation & hopefuly another top 5 with Chase. Next years class will bring us stud RBs. What don’t you like exactly?

signing one CB

losing on the best CB in the nation that we led for over 2 years

losing on BOTH backup plans for the above recruit

i'm not sold on the RBs we recruited and may desperately need them next year

much of our OL talent projection is based on lying to a DL recruit about playing DL (when we know he's going to be switched)

this is all just on the recruiting front. our recruiting has to make up for the complete abortion that is our offensive coaching staff and meddling on that side by the HC. we have to overcome those issues with talent, so losing elite talent matters

That’s not very specific Jake.

Our OL projection is based on lying to 1 recruit? Huh, what??! Be honest, do you even follow recruiting or just joining in the fun today?

Losing out on the CBs is concering but we have Joseph & some nice players returning at that position,

Rosenthal is a potential 5-star at OL. an elite talent

what other elite OL did we recruit this year?

*ETA: i am not talking about JUCOs

and we will have these guys for...a year? then what? Greedy ain't coming back for sure. Fulton may stay but if he has a good year, unlikely. we simply do not have many CBs on our roster so loading up this class was super important. hell even Joseph is a S

I don't really pay attention to or care about recruiting that much anymore, but isn't recuriting 0's supposed core competency and the first line of defense for 0 supporters? This miss doesn't bury LSU but it was as pivotal part of this class, and it's emblematic of the notion that recuriting as a HC is much different than as a cheerleading position coach. Assuming Orgeron doesn't get fired during or right after this season, what do you think this portends for next year's recuriting efforts?

make no mistake

that rumored amazing 2019 LA haul is going to keep Orgeron around unless he has a nuclear-level implosion in 2018

that's the go to "emergency" excuse to keep the HC. "we can't fire him and risk losing this class"

They got the #1 juco OT in the nation & another highly rated juco OG and 2-3 other big, athletic projectible OLs that a lot of people are high on. Hines & cole smith and another I’m forgetting

At CB you have kirklin, kary Vincent, Fulton, Delpit who played a ton of nickel & Joseph who can play CB too.

This is year 2 Chochise. The 2001 Class was signed after Saban’s first season. DiNardo signed the Faulk/Booger class BEDORE coaching a game here. I was using that to refute your BS that things can’t be turned around so quick. Programs in a lot worse shape have been turned around quick including LSU TWICE!!!

It’s not just about PS2. But as SFP pointed out every time someone brought up that we’re looking at a class ranked outside the top 10 were told about the close with Surtain Jr

And when that fizzles out. Keeping the class together will just be another excuse.

Oregeron manages to win 9 games this year, watch for Alleva to give him a contract extension. Guarantee you.
