My guess is it's like Internal Affairs in a Police Department. Nobody in the organization likes them, but they are necessary to keep the department in check.

because the goal of compliance, AD, and King is to make men's basketball as successful as the women's basketball team. Losers but clean of any shade of compliance issues.
