Who will have the better NFL career, Mingo or Eric Reid?

I think Reid. He will be a huge animal within a year or two. I dont think Mingo's speed alone will be enough in the pros.

I still think he has intangibles that will make him good. Yeah, his speed is great, and he'll be really good in a 3-4 defense (if he can size up a little bit more). I might just be too optimistic, but I think he'll be fine
I don't know which will have a better career. Reid has the smarts to be a great safety and the physical talent. I wish both of them the best

Kevin Minter will be an All-Pro Linebacker. Quite frankly I don't think Mingo or Reid will have above average NFL careers. But hey..I manage real estate properties, not NFL Rosters..

I don't see Mingo being a bust. Because of his ability to be the perfect 3-4 linebacker. Not to mention, he's the perfect answer to the new wave of read option QB's coming into the league.
Really it will all depend on where each player lands in this draft. I'd hate to see Mingo end up in Jacksonville...

Mingo relies purely on speed. Those types of players don't normally last as long but get paid a shite load when they are on top of their game.
Mingo is the perfect prototypical 3-4 outside linebacker, just yet to really play the position. Mingo was always the DE to drop back in coverage in the minimal times that defense was called though.

If he starts off as that then I predict a very good career once he gets adjusted to playing with his brain(read QB's eyes and think more) then just rushing the passer as fast as he can every snap.

Russell Shepard.
In all seriousness, I think Minter has the biggest chance of being a stud NFL player. Reid is the biggest chance of being mediocre.

quote:This is my concern for Mingo. If he doesnt speed rush, then he will have to take on the block and shed it and get in on run support. Just cant see him getting off a block by an NFL tight end or lineman, or FB for that matter. I hope Im wrong.
