I saw that on the SEC Network Friday during a rain delay. He did kick in the pro for years.

You’re right.

Well Jackson was a kicker and Witten was a punter, right? So I was a little quick with the gun.

I thought he had his years off.

Witten barely played football. He handled a few punts a season from what I recall

Chris Jackson was a true freak athlete, he was just on the smaller side

Multiple state champ QB at John Curtis, a top sec punter and kicker, and 3b for LSU baseball

That’s legit

LSU had a home game at the old Alex Box the same Saturday as the spring football game one year. Jeremy Witten ran across Nicholson, put on a football helmet, and punted for the purple team in his baseball uniform during that spring game.

Witten was the pooch punter from fall 1996-1999. He was great at dropping them inside the 10 yd line. He got to play more than most 2nd team punters because Chad Kessler (50 yds/punt - single season NCAA record holder) did not pooch punt.

Gosh do I ever remember that game. I was cutting grass and watching the game simultaneously. I remember the Stanford players mocking coach Bertmand. I remember saying to myself, “they’ll regret that”. I remember Barbier fighting through and homering. You could see the Standford players faces fall to the ground.
