Well Mullen put a TE in the NFL as a starting QB

Mullen seems to get a lot of out any QB really, he hasnt always had highly rated kids to work with, who was the last 3-star Jimbo got dealth with, I guess Blackman for 1 year at FSU then he left.
Believe it or not Mond was almost a Top 100 overall player:

Francois was a Top 100 overall player - LINK /
Golson was a 4-star, Winston was a 5-star, Manuel was a 5-star
Jimbo always has some highly recruited kid he's working with, and if we're being honest, Mond has been mediocre (showed no improvement from Sophmore to Junior year). Jameis got much worse from his freshman to sophomore year. EJ Manuel was good but never truly elite (again, remember he was a 5-star).
I think Jimbo has been fortunate to have some big time kids and not necessarily always gotten the best out of them.
Mullen on the other hand has taken a few 3-stars and made them nationally known.

Jimbo does a good job of getting guys drafted.
Christian Ponder and EJ Manual were 1st round picks

Jimbo knows QB's. But,that's all he knows.
Mullen is a grown man.

Mullen does a slightly better job of developing them for college football. He does more with less than Jimbo does.
I don't think Mullen does much to prepare them for the NFL though.

Mullen torched us with a guy who hadn't taken a meaningful snap in three years.

This is how you know Felipe Franks is a turd. Even Mullen couldn't shine him.

Jimbo uses a pro style offense so his QBs are better prepared for the draft. But Mullen does far better at making them the best QB they can be on a college level.

I don’t think it’s possible to make a decisive choice.
Jimbo won NC’s with 2 different teams when he was the only coach truly working with the QB. You know Saban had no input there in ‘03. He also somehow took a kid with no love of the game and no work ethic and made him the 1st overall pick, using his legs as much as his arm. Then Flynn wins a NC after 4 yrs working w Jimbo, when you damn well know Miles and Crowton were of little help.
Mullen deserves tons of credit, but CUM played as much a part in QB development when he was HC. The QBs he had at Miss St always improved, but Dak was the closest thing to winning significant games he had. No championships.
Mullen probably has the best odds going fwd at FL, but I wouldn’t count Jimbo out yet with the right kid.
