Bengals when Charles Alexander and Bengals were in playoffs? I seem to recall he did pretty good.

i’m in, old man. one to another. Those were the days when the very mention or sighting of a Tiger on National TV was reason for celebration.
Give it up for David Woodley, AJ Duhe among others while we’re at it. And Eugene Daniel who wasn’t particularly good at LSU and ended up playing for about 20 years in the NFL.

I loved Charles Alexander as a kid. But he also made a blunder in the third quarter as part of a 49ers goal-line stand in the Super Bowl. He ran a pass route designed to go into the end zone on a third-and-goal play. But he cut it off at the 1. He caught the ball but got tackled immediately short of the goal line by Dan Bunz. Bengals for stuffed on fourth down, too, and eventually lost the game 26-21.
As for Woodley, he was 0-for-8 in the second half of the Super Bowl and the Dolphins, who lead 17-10 at the half, lost 27-17.
Not trying to shite on former Tigers, just pointing out some dubious but notable performances.
On the other hand, without Leonard Marshall hitting Joe Montana and causing a fumble late in the 1990 NFC title game to set up Matt Bahr’s winning field goal, the Giants might not have won the Super Bowl that year.

This is the textbook LSU fan memory of a legendary player.

I remember his college career fondly, especially the day he ran wild on Ole Miss on ABC. But he didn’t have a memorable pro career. The topic was Alexander playing for the Bengals.

I believe Bo Harris also played middle LB for the Bengals, and of course Tommy Casanova ... so yeah, my Bengal fandom goes back a ways.

I remember. It was tough to root for the Bengals as a Browns fan, but I always root for former Tigers.
