I think basketball makes an elite 8 run this year. Can football top it?

Football. Top 6 finish just like last season.

"better" is subjective.

I don't think either wins the SEC. It's much tougher to make the "playoffs" in football than it is in basketball. On that note, I think LSU has a real shot to make the playoffs. For the basketball team to "equal" that success, you could argue that they would at least have to make the Elite 8...and I just don't see that happening. So I guess, by default, I'll say football

I could see football making the CFP more than basketball making the final four

Why does one have to be better than the other. Can't we just expect both to have really good seasons and enjoy them without having to compare the two?

basketball lost only 2 SEC games and won the SEC along with going to the sweet 16. That will be a hard feat to top.

LSU football isn't winning the SEC.

Football

Basketball team is missing some pieces. Wade still needs a post player and some shooting

Wiretap Willy still has some work to do on the roster

Depends on whether we are able to secure a big man that can provide immediate meaningful minutes. If we pull Dante, we are a top 16 team. Without him (or someone that provide similar minutes in the middle), we are likely a top 30 team.

Football has a wide range. Wouldn't surprise me if we make a NY6. Wouldn't surprise me if we finish 3rd or worse in the West.

It's all about exceeding expectations...

I'm thinking they both kick butt. Football playoffs and Basketball Elite 8

How about highest ranked?

Think this'll be football, only because to end up Top 10 or so means a real post season run in basketball. In football, you can end up Top 10 with a 10-3 type season.

Tough call, but it's certainly nice to have this option.

To me it's Wade vs CoachO here...

I'm going with basketball, mainly because I'm not that confident in O beating tGumps.

Basketball. Last year they made it to the sweet sixteen without Wade, can you imagine what the team will be like with Wade as head coach all the way through the season.

We still have a boatload of forwards, and two outstanding tall guards. All with experience. We won't be a small team.

I think this group can overcome the lack of a 'center' so to speak, but it would be nice to have one.

I think WW can make just about any roster work out.

Agreed. Last year's team didn't look the same without WW.

They did well in his abscense for awhile, but it eventually showed in the tourney.
