My nephew went to A/M, I went to LSU as well as five generations preceding me. My brother pulls for Aggies cuz of nephew. Thanksgiving would be an interesting holiday.

Big time excited. This is and will be the bitter rivalry that we've kind of been missing. The forced-Arkansas game just didn't do it for me. I think our series with Auburn has been great since the league expanded in the early 90's, but they will always hate Bama more.

And with A&M not playing Texas anymore, I think the feelings will be mutual.

Based on many of the threads on here all week, it looks like things picked up where they left off when the series ended in '95.

When I was in school at A&M in the late 80's/early '90s the LSU game was actually more fun than Texas. The hate was STRONG. Great way to kick off the season. Ironically I could see in a few years the roles reversing and A&M playing Texas early with LSU as the season ender. Back then it was so rough for Aggies going to Baton Rouge that if you were in the Corps you were actually told not to wear your uniform, the only place they had that rule.

So many connections between the schools. John David Crow. Billy Cannon Jr. Harvey Williams. Bucky Richardson. Curley Hallman. The hard feelings are many and varied. So many Ags and Tigers work in the oil business together. So many Louisiana Ags and Tigers from Texas. If A&M wins this weekend btw it will get NASTY from then on. Once LSU truly sees A&M as equal competition watch out.

I know you guys hate the Thanksgiving idea but if it happens you will grow to love it. Turkey at the tailgate is awesome and you are also guaranteed for it to be a night game. You can also still have an early Thanksgiving meal with the family and make the game in most cases. Why be just another game on Friday or Saturday? Also, every other year CBS gets the Cowboys game so you would have the lead up all day and have our game follow theirs.

I like having Texas A & M back, especially when both full bands are involved. Was a student in '60s/'70's and thououghly enjoyed the Aggie games, which we usually won. they played in TS every year back then.

If it's a night game then it probably will be better than a Friday after Thanksgiving day game. I went to the Arky game last year and it fricking sucked that the game was so early. Our tailgate was just getting rolling and then it was time to go to the game.

Glad to see it return, I just don't want the game to be the beginning of the season like it used to be. That place is fricking hot in Sept.

Guaranteed night game on TDay. The day is owned by an NFC Central game early and a Cowboys game at 3. They may start putting NFL games on at night but still that slot has traditionally been for colleges, primarily A&M/Texas.

If we don't go then we are likely to have the game during the day on Friday or maybe Saturday with an occasional night game, maybe. One thing Ags and Tigers share in common is the firm belief that college football games played at night are how things are meant to be, especially for big games.

It is a travesty this game is at 11 btw. The lost opportunity to see Texas BBQ meeting Louisiana Cajun for epic tailgating is just wrong.

Not me. We need a true Southern rivalry. Hopefully Ole Miss can get back to form.

I'm really stoked about the series coming back but not about the possibility of it being Thanksgiving weekend. I'd rather it be the SEC opener or like this in mid October. I'm hoping Texas sacks up and agrees to play them again.

Traffic isn't as bad on TDay. Lots of ways to get creative as well. We have done turkey at the tailgate. Early Thanksgiving (eat at 12, done by 2, still have 5 hours before the game). Thanksgiving on Friday.

Another nice benefit is you kind of get everything done in one day so if you want to do Black Friday shopping you can. Personally I usually play golf or go deer hunting on that Friday while watching the scores or just sit in front of the TV for 2 days and enjoy rivalry weekend to the fullest.

I remember when we first went to the Big 12 they moved the A&M/Texas game from Thanksgiving Night to Friday at 10 AM. That SUCKED. Then they moved it to still being on Friday but alternating from 11 and 2:30 in different years and that wasn't much better. Love the TDay games.

Why would they move it to Thanksgiving? Nothing wrong with Friday to me.
