Seems like he has decided to fade into the woodwork scoring wise since TW has been lights out lately.

We're winning. He's doing just fine.

He had a bad game, that’s all.

6 pts but 0-4 from three. If he makes two of those he would have had 12. Just off tonight.
But guess what?? FIVE steals

It's kinda strange, right? Waters was struggling a bit and Mays picked up the slack. Waters picked up his play and Mays hasn't had to do as much. It's almost as if the players are figuring out their roles on the team with the 6 new players that didn't contribute last season. The most veteran of them seems to realize what he needs to do every game for LSU to be successful. Strange indeed.

He's had at least 14 points in 6 of 8 games

You aren’t a frequent basketball watcher are you?

Yeah, Mays is playing his role and his threat from 3 helps spread the floor, and allowing others to operate, and it’s working. Right now we just need him playing D like he’s doing..

Do you not watch the games?

I haven't seen him take it to the hole like he used to do regularly. Now he just shoots 3's.

Y’all gotta stop judging players solely by points. Mays has been our most consistent backcourt defender all year. He gets us tons of transition opportunities.
He makes a huge impact every game regardless of how many points he scored

That is because the "Bigs" are staying inside, where they belong, taking up that space.

He kinda had a great defensive game. He was just off shooting the ball. I think i noticed he seemed a little better passing the ball down low last night..

It’s good to know we don’t need Mays to have a great (or even good) game to win though. There’s enough talent around to make up when one consistently solid player has an off night. How often have we as Tiger fans had the luxury of saying that?
The coaching was outstanding. The team played outstanding. It’s rare that when a team plays outstanding that every individual contributor has an outstanding game as well, which is what the OP was expecting.

Skylar is a very good player. He's not the physical freak like most of the team, but his leadership & experience on the court cannot be underestimated.
