Put Pearson at 3B imho.

John right?

John Pearson has the best batting average on the team right now. 0.444.

I agree...

except

Braswell

Braswell was bad for most of last year in the field and at the plate. He turned it around and played really well for about a month at the end of the season....

I'm not saying he should never see the field, but I think Reaves would be more consistent.

That said, I will let JJ make all the decisions. He knows more than me.

.276 and .274 the last 2 seasons

if .275 is the worst batting average in the lineup, and Jones, Curiel, Milam, etc. stay at 400... That's a damn good lineup, in my opinion.

Pitching will be the focus. Have plenty of options but will see how many are ready to be dogs in the SEC soon.

Hernandez & Stanfield, if you want to call them holes.

100 percent and I agree that we can't call them holes because there's no protection there for Hernandez he's the target. Stanfield is doing a job rolling that lineup over. It really changes a ball game when theres no "chalk" outs. Id also say while neither are great Hernandez has been better defensively and that's the priority. You can't win games with a bad catcher at any level. I'd still like to see Arambide get some more looks because in my opinion he's the better all around player just needs reps.

Braswell had a slow start during pre-conference (.245 BA) last year and turned it on as soon as SEC play started. By the midpoint of the season, he had gotten his average to almost .300. He finished at .311. He improved throughout the season, but calling him "bad for most of last year" at the plate is not accurate.

1-9 this is one of the best hitting lineups I have ever seen by LSU.
Idk if it's been mentioned yet but CJJ is a hitting guru and I am confident the development we've seen in a short time this season from hitters like Stanfield and Reaves is due to CJJ's coaching.

Even our 10-14 hitters are studs.

Wish we had more reps on SEC pitching, but so far we look great.

I have watched all of the top teams in SEC play. Bama and TN are the only teams that can match us offensively. LSU has a better bench than those tw teams. We get both at home so that’s a plus but we play back to back.

Maybe so but Reaves was already a great hitter at Blinn. I actually really like his bat in the lineup

If Eyanson could get it together he has probably the best swing and miss stuff on the staff. Dude is filthy but he’s got to start hitting his spots a lot better and stop leaving pitches hanging up in the zone for better hitters to crush.

I’d say catcher. But not because it’s so much a “hole” as we have been accustomed to great depth at that position past 4-5 years.

Fair enough.

I tell you what that kid has a sweet swing - smooth as butter.

The weak spot has been the competition so far. We don't really know what we have yet because of inflated out of conference stats. But I can't wait to find out!
