When the "eye" was off center

Somebody back me up on this. I seem to remember that when they first switched from painting LSU to the eye at the center of the field, the eye was off center for at least the first couple of years. IIRC, the larger part was on the south side of the 50. I used to wonder how they could screw this up time after time. Then, all of a sudden, it was fixed.

It's my belief it was done on purpose to simulate one of two eyes of the tiger. Only explanation I can think of.

To do that on scale it would've had to be on about the south 35.

Yep.. It was done on purpose to simulate 1 of 2 eyes



Bad image but if you count yard markers, you can tell the logo is north of the 50

But it wasn't nearly close enough on scale to do that. It looked like it was just messed up.
