What's the biggest problem with this team?

What's the biggest issue/issues, and how can we improve going forward?

I think the single biggest problem is probably OL.
Getting Campbell back should help
Bradford was BAD.
This should help the run game and the passing game.
Then Daniels refusing to throw the ball into even loose coverage.
Then Wr Drops
The Special Teams.
coaching decisions and defense i am less worried about.

The impatient fans who want success now. It will take time and it will involve bad days from players and coaches. Kelly will figure this out. Give it time.
And the o-line.
And the o-line.

Young o-line, inability to run the football
QB decision making
Defensive backfield
3rd down conversions on both sides of the ball
Kelly and crew have certainly not been perfect, but they are also not suiting up and playing. The rose colored glasses we all had on a few weeks ago have come off.
Next year should be better, more polished. Year 3, expectations should rightly be sky high, and the coaching staff will deserve absolutely every bit of criticism.

Brian Kelly being an overrated stubborn old frick.
Who hired his boys in Denbrock and Polian who are coordinating the worst offense and worst special teams unit in the SEC. And is so uncreative offensively that his solution to everything is apparently “hey but what if the qb could run???”
Which reeks of Jefferson/Jennings/Harris era Les, which is terrifying.
Kelly also apparently can’t get the team to start before the 20 min mark. Down 24-3, 13-0, 17-0, and 20-0 in our four real games. That’s…not good.

Scoring points
To me experience and talent throughout the roster. Two examples:
1) The majority of the offensive line has reached maximum capacity to be coached up. Three of them are SEC caliber and two of them are freshmen, and only one started.
2) Like it or not, the starting QB has the physical tools but he looks like some dolt trying to catch dust particles with tweezers in a dusty cabin when on the field.

That maybe a little much. However, he is not the player they hype him to be. At least not since his injury, not the same player and I don't care what the coach says he pouts and doesn't put forth the effort.

If Daniel’s would trust his line and not run before he gets pressure, that will help a ton. He’s bailing wayyyy too early.

I don’t think we can overlook the fact that with so many transfers, it’s like having a whole team of freshmen in regards to not having played together. The dynamic is just different when you have guys who have not built trust and camaraderie over time. So many of these guys have only known each other, personally and “professionally” for mere months. Then you throw in the NIL money creating a have & have-not situation. You can’t tell me there isn’t resentment there. Of course, every team is experiencing that. But every team doesn’t have the number of transfers we had to rely on on day 1 just to have a starting lineup.

I think people forgot how shitty we were the last 2 seasons and really thought this team was going to immediately turn it around in an off-season and be great.
