After MSU and watching most other SEC teams over 4 weeks: 8-4
The secondary executed zone schemes very well this weekend. Our base nickle D should be very good if we can mix some blitzing in with our stunts. If we face any team with a good run game or team with a good slot WR/TE we will be destroyed. Peetz is not improving with play calling/scheme whereas Jones is. OLine is a massive liability and our RBs are slow outside of the freshmen who don’t stay on the field. This team is fickle, that much is obvious. I’m afraid after we face our first SEC loss they will fall apart. Really disappointed, this team has some studs but it’s obvious the coaching staff doesn’t know their personnel or have any capacity to be creative. The fricking run plays are the same zone blocking scheme game after fricking game with the usual suspects whiffing or getting knocked off the ball. The few counters we ran worked (imagine that) but we only called two or three. It almost appears that Peetz is calling plays at random instead of getting creative with what works. Someone should tell him we can run the successful plays out of different formations with key personnel (e.g., Boutte, Bech, Smith, & Kinner). Stop fricking subbing, you’re making Max think too much about our personnel. Exhaust the opposition not our team.

Before UCLA I was optimistic and really thought we would be 10-2 and with a little luck 11-1.
Now I think we need some breaks to get to 6-6.
And it’s not just the UCLA game. It’s all the games and how bad we continue to look even against lesser opponents

The Rant dream is still mostly alive. We can’t go undefeated but we can still have a 1-loss season, win the National Championship, and fire the Head Coach.
