It wasnt a motion offense...the players didnt seem to know where to go and move according to the other players.

There were several times the guys were actually increasing the defensive strength instead of getting good backdoor screens, etc.

they don't really have any go to plays in halfcourt situations

should be looking to hit martin goalbound instead he's on the wing

forget single plays....we dont seem to even have an offensive philosophy to work under. I know it;s been said that we run a motion offense, but those usually involve reading the other players and moving to the space that is about to be created, or moving to create space for another.

We rarely seemed to be doing anything like that.

They really should have implemented more of a pick and pop/roll system with mickey, Martin, gray, and Q

yea, also mickey no longer hitting those midrange Js kind of congests the paint when you're trying to get inside

called the party @ the top of the key offense

the goal is to bottleneck all traffic to the top of the key, have a minimum of 3 offensive players collide and wrestle one another for the ball, allow one to escape the scrum and jack up a 3 as long as he can see the basket.

We definitely do not run motion. Half court they run a lot of roll and replace stuff. Has a semblance of Princeton with with back cut, with fill and chase ball screen but not a lot of movement.

Part of the problem is playing with 2 bigs. Doesn't give perimeter player much room to cut to. They become limited to just moving to space in the perimeter.

Yep, he used to be money from the elbow area. What happened to that shot?

With Gray and Q missing every shot they took, I assume they would double Martin on the roll shutting this down. Easy to play D when you only have to worry about one guy being able to make a shot.

We run the same UCLA set out of every timeout. Same play as what we ran the very last play of 1st half when the NCST defender fell down.

That's about it.

I saw several problems late, when the lead was disappearing.
Mickey really didn't want the ball (was tired and rattled), but he was still doing his job and was getting position.

Quarterman started acting like he had to do too much, like he was trying to make up for the other players. He brought his A game and it was still slipping away, so he started trying to bring his A++++/Lebron game... which doesn't exist.

Hornsby was all out-of-sorts, really, the whole game. His shot wasn't falling, he had zero assists, and he just seemed to disappear. You really would have thought he'd be the guy to go to late, to dribble some, try to collect a couple fouls and ice the game at the line.

Martin was either tired or hesitant late. I would have thought, once it was getting close and Mickey made a couple bad shots- Martin would stepped up and demanded the ball, done some serious isolations and tried to finish off the game. He seemed to be fine with drifting out high and passing the ball up.
