What kind of contract would a guy like Napier need?

I know none of us has a crystal ball but, would it HAVE to be another albatross 6 year contract?

We can't just keep buying people out if they don't go at least 9-3 every year.

Well 0 gets paid 8mil to bang strippers and call people sissy’s. Just think what an actual coach could demand

About 3.50 mil for the first year with bonuses for winning key games and get him around 4.5 or 5mil for 12 wins.

He's never been at a big program so unsure of how well he'll do.

Right, but being a pain in the arse off the field and going 5-6 since winning the title.......maybe we can make an exception.

He makes 2 million a year at ULL. Would probably take 5 years at 4.5-5 million a year or something similar. It wouldn’t be a bank breaker but it wouldn’t be cheap either.

If you’re LSU you don’t even want to be in a position where you’re paying your coach bottom half of the conference money anyway because it communicates you’re either not committed to your program or nobody wants the job.

All I can say...

Is that it's a man, has coached football prior, and he will lead us to a NC during his tenure.

That should be more than enough for some of you sleuths to figure it out.

I'm sure he'd do 3 years for $16m/year instead of 6 for $8m/year.

Our last 3 coaches have. I think we have that part figured out.

I think the bigger issue is he is going to want Saban or Sweeny like program control and autonomy. I'm not sure if he'll get that just walking in the door. I'm not sure he comes without it.

I dont understand this infatuation of Napier. He hasn't won a big game yet, and its not like he turned this program from a 2-3 wins into 9-11 wins.

No.

He’s coaching at ULL. 6 mill would be a top 20ish paid HC

He took a program that’s was winning 4-6 games and won 11 and 10 games the last 2 years and is ranked.
