I could say that Moffit made Buster into a 1st Rd. pick because he "got" faster that what he was thought to be coming out of HS.

5 more full time starters?

the draft disagrees with you EVERY year.......Yeah ESPN and their analyst are always spot on with the draft........that's why guys like Matt Leinart and Brady Quinn hang out for the first 15 picks.

Holy hell...can we nominate this for the "ranter thread of the year award"?
i think you forget what "ranter" means

Calling Dorsey a bust for not single-handedly turning around the Chiefs defense...wow, just wow. I guess Sapp was a bust too in his first year?
dorsey had almost no, and i mean no, impact
elite DTs usually have an impact their rookie year

Randall Gay
Josh Reed
Robert Royal
Donnie Jones
Todd McClure
Can I keep going?

I nominate slowflow for ranter of the year

and he ran a horribly slow 40 time for a CB, so what's your point?
1) Low 4.6s is not a horribly slow time for a cover-2 CB, what CJ was projected as. On the contrary, its average. And he has shown to be plenty fast enough even in man coverage for the Falcons.
2) My point is he ran faster than what was projected. LSU has as many of those as any other school is my point. That you are exaggerating reality to support your constant agenda that LSU players are less athletic than all other major schools is my point.

i said the draft, not the mock draft
even really successful teams take gambles on athletes who weren't that good in college
look at the titans. they miss on the RB from zona, hit big on chris johnson (both workout warriors). they hit on some workout warrior OL from small schools (like roos) and griffin. they missed on vince

quote:"Fair"? We go 12-2 and win the SEC and National Championships and you are blasting the coaching performance based on the two losses, without so much as a nod to the 12 wins, and you're actually using the word "fair" with a straight face?
to be fair, one of those came after a 2-loss season
How many other programs in the country can compete with two National Championships -- two-loss or otherwise -- in the last 6 years? Or 10? Or 15?
Since Tommy Moffitt has arrived at LSU, we have enjoyed success that shatters all precedent at LSU. We have enjoyed success that dwarfs all but a handful of other programs over that time, and rivals even the best of programs. And that is ALL within the purview of Moffitt's job description, helping LSU win football games. What can you show within that measure to suggest that he is in any way performing his job at less than an elite level?
If we sign nothing but 5* speedsters for the next twenty years, and every single one of them is so slow at the combines that we never have a single player drafted, and we continue winning at the pace we have since Moffitt arrived, our program will be among the elite in college football history and I would be completely ecstatic about the performance of our coaching staff, S&C included. Would you?

yes, it is
it's slow for a free safety, let alone a CB

My point is he ran faster than what was projected.
no, he wasn't
he was expected to be slow, but 4.55 slow. not 4.65 slow
and zenon was supposed to be in the 4.4s, but ran a 4.55

he had problems found but they were latent problems, not ones that would hurt his performance
I'm no doctor, but is a pretty convenient thing to say. Didn't he have a stress fracture? Do you know what the therapy is for that? Rest. Hard to train properly when you aren't supposed to put any pressure on your leg.

that won't happen
if we don't put guys into the NFL, recruiting will dry up

What Donnie Jones doesn't count cause he punts.
Gay started this year and Reed is the #2 WR so unless the Bills come out in I form he usually STARTS THE GAME.
Man your such little cocksauce. LSU #5 among colleges with players on a ROSTER...........Drink that shite up.

Didn't he have a stress fracture?
they found a stress fracture (some disagreed as to the severity) that he didn't even know about
remember that. it was so painful that he didn't even know he had it
Posted on 2/23/09 at 4:57 pm to SlowFlowPro
He knew he had something wrong though...just not necessarily that is was a stress fracture. He was beat the hell up during the season.

he counts, but it's funny to bring up a punter in a thread about athleticism

Gay started this year
after our 2 starters at CB got hurt

LSU #5 among colleges with players on a ROSTER
that's different than starting
OSU
Miami
FSU
Texas
Michigan
i doubt we have more starting than those 5 programs
