Athlon, sporting news, and espn had us predicted at 9-3, 9-3, and 8-4 respectively. With a weak SEC this is about where we will land. I don't get what all the surprise is about, or all the fuss. Is this not what we thought? Anyone who thought this team was going to the national championship was dillusional. Think about the last time we went to the national championship. That team had 10 times the talent this team has . Especially in the trenches

While it was time for Les to go. The expectation is to get better not worse.

Les averaged 10 wins.

O or any replacement should be held to that standard.

What scares me is people are already lowering the bar and expectations now and for next year.

In prior years under Miles the 8-4 or 9-3 preseason calls were ridiculed and guys were labeled idiots. Standards were high before O and hopefully remain high. It's a damn joke that people are now trying to spin this as a true rebuild effort. If we needed to rebuild there would be absolutely no reason to let O have the keys to the car. He was a conventient hire that was supposed to bring continuity and be expendable if he won't produce.

i am not lowering the bar for next year. with all the freshmen we have playing, we have to be better next year. i just dont see us having enough this year. the only good thing is that the SEC is bad this year. i dont believe it will stay bad

We got skull fricked by a ok Miss State team and went toe to toe with a bad Syracuse team who got beat by middle Tennessee state. Now you tell me why people are a little concerned.

It's no surprise to anyone with a brain. This phony outrage has been orchestrated since he was hired. The same people who ignored every sports expert and publications prediction of 9-3 or 8-4 were saying this season will be a bust if we lose 2 games or more. And these are the same people who are now pretending to be upset and saying I told you so when all they're really upset about happened months ago and has nothing to do with our record, which happens to be a better record than 2 of the past 3 seasons at this point.

Look all this babbling back and forth is very old already.

I am an LSU fan.

I dont give a rats you know what who the coach is are where they are from.

I want them to do the job and improve.

To sit back and say these last 2 games dont concern you is odd.

The problem I have is not going 9-3 or 8-4. It's the fact that I have never seen an LSU team look as bad as this team looked the first 4 games. The lack of discipline, not showing any improvement on the Oline, letting teams like syracuse scramble around and throw balls over our secondaries heads with not a soul close to the receivers, and not breaking one run longer than 25 yards.

O Apologist. 8-4 was not what I wanted. But now would be happy to even get close as bad as this team has looked.

Not only are we not accustomed, a 30-pt loss to State has NEVER happened in the previous 114 seasons of LSU football.

I've never once said they don't concern me but the reaction from the fans is embarrassing. We've had games like Saturday and games like State under Miles and Saban yet these games are being treated totally different because some fans hate the coach. I've seen multiple posters say they wish we'd lose games. We don't look good that's obvious but to blame everything on coach O is so lazy and ignorant. Aranda's defense looks like shite, is he all of the sudden a bad coach? Canada's offense is bi polar, is that because he's all the sudden a bad coach? You can't blame one guy and not the others but that's what's going on when the truth is we are weak and thin at the two most important units on the field. There's no talent at the tackle position at all the film shows it and we have no depth on the dline. Some of it is injuries which is nobody's fault and some of it is because O had to clean house and discipline a lot of kids that were doing whatever they wanted too and used to getting away with it. We are 3-1 that's a better start than 2 or the last 3 seasons and people are acting like we are winless.

No LSU coach has EVER lost to State by 30 points.

EVER

In 114 seasons of football.

So what we lost to Auburn by a larger margin in 2014 and Miss State has been a better program than Auburn the past 6 years.

Lol that post doesn't even make sense and even still it's not as ignorant as the logic behind it.

In the past 6 full seasons (2011-16), Auburn has won 46 games, State has won 47. Nice technicality.

What Is different from expectations?

- Getting swamped by Mississippi State. Nobody really expected.
- Having Arden Key back . . . and being fat AND slow. Surprise there.
- Having an offensive line that can barely block anyone. That's a surprise.
- Having an offense that misfires and struggles. Hired new man Canada. Expectations were high.
- Having a defense that mid-tier opponents can put up points and yardage on with apparent ease. That's a real disconcerting shocker there.
- Having Darrius Guice be not as productive running the ball as he was last year. That's a little different from expectations I think most would say.

So . . . All of these point to a potential for calamity come SEC schedule play. And THAT is different from most people and pundits' expectations for LSU this year.
