Common sense.

It wouldn't have mattered if he was running a different offense but still lost the same number of games over the last few years.

Or are you under the impression losing "pretty" actually matters? If the answer is yes I'm going to assume you wanted to hire Kingsbury.

As long as he doesn't coach us out of wins I'd be ok with 9 wins. 10 would be cause for optimism and 11 would be great.

According to the rant he will need to go undefeated or should be fired.

We fired miles for inept offense and promises of change and not implementing it. I'm Not sayin 9 wins is ok but ppl were tired of no imagination and continually running their heads into brick walls over and over expecting success. We have an extra road Sec game and a new HC and OC. If O goes 9-3 and wins a bow game I'd say good season.

His 66-59 loss to OU was hilarious. Nice defense, guys.

We fired a guy who averaged 10 wins a year, won a NC, and played for another

Orgeron better win. Nothing less than 9 is acceptable. I don't give a damn where the hell he's from

This roster has talent. There is no excuse not to win 10 games after a bowl game.

it's 11 wins. people said the only thing keeping lsu from winning the sec west was miles. it's time to see if they were correct.

Losing 4 games was understandable given a mid-season firing. If this team loses 4 games again he should be on the hottest of seats. If he loses 5 games he should be fired.

this is utter nonsense. no one cared what our offense looked like when we were finishing in the top 10 or top 5.

This is dishonest revisionist history.

All we've heard since 07 is that Miles got gunshy and started meddling after the Lee disaster. The offense has been a problem ever since with the exception of 2013.

It wasn't until we stopped winning 10 a year in 2014 that things went sour for Les and he was run out.

Don't try to move the goalposts now.

If O doesn't win 10, regular season games he is on the hot seat.

If he wins 8 regular season, this is a failure and move on time.

Think about it, there is no excuse for not starting 5-0 against this schedule. To finish 8-4 that means we go 3-4 down the stretch against three ranked teams max. That is a fricking failure for a new coach brought in for continuity.

8-4 this year, then lose our starting QB, Heisman caliber RB, and half our OL and we're "rebuilding" again in 2018 and the excuses just keep coming.

frick that shite. 9-3 depends on how the season and games play out, but 8-4 is time to bring in a real AD to conduct a real search for our next coach.

Everyone saying it's not fair for O to win 9 when Les got fired for winning 9 are forgetting O is still playing with the players Miles left him.... mainly a thin O line and a shaky quarterback situation.

He'll win 10 at least so the point is moot.

Miles winning 9 wasnt good enough so why would it be for O? Must win 10 or more or what was the point?

Very well stated, the only issue I have is that the roster this year will have a total of 50 either freshman or RS freshman on the roster. So he gets a little leeway IMO, but not a lot. Like you said if he doesn't at least win 10 games regularly, what was the point?

For me, there's 2 ways to look at this --

#1 Miles was fired and he was winning 8 or 9, at the end. We expect more. Recruiting at too high of a level to have such an awful offense and to not be ranked in the Top 10.

#2 We lost a ton of players. Replacing veteran starters all across the defense and as mentioned in several other threads - we're not sure about our OLine.

Having said that, I expect Canada will put more yardage and points on the board than we saw during the last few years of the Miles era. I'm just not sure it will yield a better record.... just yet.

I'm going to say 10-3 or 9-4.

We may be poised for an awesome season in 2019.... depending on QB development and recruiting.
