What if we now win a NC with JB as QB?

What kind of extension and raise does O get? I know this is unlikely but not impossible. Would some fans come unglued even though we win it all?

Nah everyone would be pretty pumped.

Most people want to see LSU do well.

At this point I’d take even a Larry Coker situatio.

You would think so. I wasn't on the O train at all but if this happens it would make some fans choose if they are O haters or LSU fans. Look at the downvotes on this post. Telling!?

I don't see the need to extend or raise. Even if they will it all.

Let the dang contract play out for once.. then go from there. LSU at some point should have some of the upper hand. They would have to know O isn't going any where. He wouldn't have the success he's having at LSU any where else. What major program is going to throw outrageous money at him??

I don't think we would come unglued because we would have won a championship.. but I just don't find it necessary to extend a guy like O. He would still have a contract to play it. I would hate to see him extended and then bomb. I hated when Miles flirted with Arky and got the raise.. He was never going to Arkansas.. and he was never going to have better success there. I hope LSU is smarter this go around.

Let the contract play out.. if he has a championship season and then follows it up with another 10+ type of season then so be it.. pay him a ridiculous amount if you feel the need.. but it isn't worth the gamble of extending him earlier..

No the downvotes are because O Pumpers like to pretend it’s some weird personal thing with O and f he went out and went 15-0 no one would change their mind.

I'm sure O would get a very nice raise and extension and rightfully so. I seriously doubt this will happen though. I think the signing of Burrow just injected optimism into the fan base and probably saved the season from being a disaster due to inept qb play. The schedule this year isn't any easier and the OL still has to find way to protect him.

I'm definitely no O pumper but if this happened it would create a situation where some would say he was just lucky with a grad transfer qb but his agent would certainly go for the jugular.

Joe would give him a raise

If O ever came at me asking for more money I’d ask him why a top 10 paid coach needs a 2.5 million dollar Coordinator on his own side of the ball.

An extension should come only after showing sustained success. I do think a raise would be in order in that scenario, but extensions should happen only if a coach has shown sustained success throughout the entire course of his contract.

But of course we are talking about joe Alleva.

So Orgeron would become the new Gus Malzahn?

That was kind of my point in making this post. It would quite possibly save Alleva as well.

The haters would stay quiet until the first sign of trouble and start saying I told you so and I never liked the guy since we hired him. Just like they did with Les Miles.

People are upset about "the search" because they want to win championships or at least be in the picture. It's the obsessed Orgeron fan club who've twisted that into "you'd still hate O even if he won a championship every year!" because they think that's a valid counter argument.

Oh sure. I know you can find a troll posting to back that up but if you're truly being objective, you'd recognize those don't represent the vast majority who've been critical.
