Would they be worthy of a raise? I wish I could get a raise based on these performance metrics. Would you be content if these were our team defensive rankings? Hypothetical Total Defense:
No the DC would need to be replaced
same situation with the OC that was removed after the 2010 season.

Whats our record? Are we still the reigning SEC champs? If so then yes

I would be happy with something cohesive and being able to make some in game adjustments. I don't need an overhaul of the entire system such a putting in a spread offense.

You have a choice.....don't go to the games, don't spend the money. You can watch our games free on tv tahnks to this program being good enough that the cable networks want to televise our games.
This isn't a government...it's a private business of football athletics. They provide entertainment. That entertainment has been very good during Miles' tenure. When the demand is high the price goes up. As long as LSU wins, fans will show up, people will watch it on TV and the smart business people that work at LSU, will keep the continuity of the program which is seeing a golden period atm. Les Miles will go down as the greatest coach at LSU ever. He is on pace to be the winningest coach here, he has been successful since day 1, while taking his teams through a stupid amount of distractions, starting with Katrina in '05 all the way to the injury/suspension laden 2012 year.
I am a LSU fan. I was a fan through the shitty years prior to LSU getting Saban. I watched Saban lay a foundation for a good program, but we still lost to the likes of UAB, got beat down by Texas, and really leveled out around a 9-4 team with a good 2003. I watched Miles walk in and take what Saban laid down and build an elite program on top of it. While I appreciate what Saban did for the program (as I am sure he appreciates what the program did for him), Miles took the program to top 5 level year in and year out. Before we were a top 15 team. Now we are top 5 consistently.
You can have your opinion of Miles and you can be mad that LSU is charging more, but that isn't because of Miles' contract....it's becasue the cost of everything is through the roof and we are renovating a stadium, while doing a ton of other shite that the University needs money for all while the LA government is cutting funding to the university. If you don't want to pay the extra , then don't...it's your choice.

This is for my heart and my home. I refuse to stand by while we award mediocrity and suffer year to year. Enough is enough and it is time for a change.
Your head needs to take control if your heart believes that being in the NC hunt year in and year out is mediocrity. Honestly, dumb comments like this prove to me some people on here have never managed a group of people or a business in their life. If you want to refuse to stand by adn watch LSU compete for titles, then go be a fan of someone else. LSU doesn't need fans like this.

This shows you that defense wins championships. If that was our defensive stats over the last few years we would have a much worse record. We would have had to score every drive to stay competitive. Thankfully, these were our offensive stats

so your going to look at one aspect of the team and make the decision not to give a raise to this guy?
couldn't a team like oregon win a national championship with a defense like this?
didn't auburn win a national championship with a middle of the road SEC defense?
what is his entire body of work don't look at one aspect.

btw if I remember correctly our defense was pretty horrible in 2008 I think and then in 2009 we hire the chief and in a short 2 years our defense becomes one of the best in the country. So our head coach did his job he fixed a problem and made it great. HE tried to do the same with the offense but our offensive coordinator was diagnosed with parkisons and we had to adjust and because we brought up the oline coach to call the plays our offense struggled. Now based on what happened in 2008 I think there is a good chance the same happens in 2013 our offense could get alot better, not top in the country (because that's not the nature of the SEC) but good enough to take pressure off the defense.

I recognize that he made the correct changes and fixed our defensive struggles. He did it almost immediately. There was no waiting around and hoping it would get better the next year. So why is he taking a different approach with our offensive struggles? Stud had had 2 years at the helm of the offense, mallveto only got one year at the helm of the D. The reason is because he didn't see our offensive philosophy as an issue. He sees it as the players not executing the philosophy properly. Miles entire history as a position coach/coordinator and player have been on the offensive side of the ball. He is smart enough to recognize that defense is not his specialty and has has hired a strong specialist and handed him the reigns. However on offense he feels like he does know better and is too stubborn or blind to make that decision.

Who cares of what the offense does anymore, we win games because of defense. I don't have faith anymore and it's been too long with a shitty offense. I have moved on.
