re: What if I told you there were no villains here?

Did she? I don't remember her following Clark around. Just watched the clips of the trash talking and didn't notice it then either.
Yeah man, she did. People keep talking about "trash talking", and how that's part of the game. That has nothing to do with what people are mad about. She followed Clark and pointed to her finger, clearly gesturing about having a ring on her finger, and had some "you can't see me" gesture. Now Clark did the latter gesture in another game, and I don't care for that either, but it also wasn't right in anyone's face.
There is a right way and a wrong way to express emotion. I don't know why some people can't just admit that.

It’s because what actually happens it’s important to certain people anymore, especially when race is perceived to be involved.
I shouldn’t really say “anymore”. I’m not sure it ever was, and I’m certainly not saying only black people are like that about racial issues.

All the virtue signalers criticizing Reese while portraying Clark is the innocent victim
Since when is my disappointment in an LSU player’s choices predicated on the actions of another player from another school?
Either way, it really isn’t a big deal. I just didn’t like it. I thought it looked bad in real time.

I'm criticizing both of them. No need to act like that. You can be gracious in victory and defeat. There's a few things that don't cost a damn cent. Honor, character, integrity, class.
I'm not saying you have to grovel for your opponents, but at least show them the common decency and respect that is due. I'm getting pretty sick of this taunting bullshite. It adds nothing to the game and instead of talking about the dominant performance from yesterday, here we are talking about this bullshite that changed the game in no way except to create a narrative about LSU.

Well stop watching. I like BOTH trash talkers. I’m looking forward to the rematch. Give me your address and I will carrier pigeon you the results next year, if applicable.

think any of those guys following around a defeated opponent for extended (more than a moment) period of time trying to get in their face to taunt them would face criticism. It’s the following Clark around that made Reese look bad.
Burrow literally walked over to the sidelines and grabbed a dude to talk shite against VANDERBILT. A 30 point underdog. And everyone bowed to him.
At least be consistent with the outrage.

Full context needed here too: This was after Vandy hit him late and talked shite as well.
Not sticking up for anyone, just providing context.

Yeah, I've come to expect this kind of portrayal from the media, but seeing so many LSU fans defending something that was blatantly disrespectful, and insinuating that all criticism is racially motivated, is just mind blowing to me.
There is this copy and pasted response that is going around this site, and other places, where people keep saying "no one had a problem with Joe Burrow". WHEN did Joe Burrow ever do anything like that? When? Joe could be brash, and Angel can be brash. That is one thing. I never saw Burrow get in someone's face and taunt them. Words spoken during a game happen. Taunting when the game is clearly over is over the top. If I had seen Burrow do that, I would call him out immediately.
Think of all the people who couldn't stand Marshall Henderson and Grayson Allen who, last time I checked, were both White. Most people don't like it when anyone behaves in an outwardly disrespectful way.

You can check my post history to know how outrageous it is for me to say, but I’ve never been as compelled to play a gender and/or race card before this media bullshite.
Men do it, it’s fine.
White women do it, no big deal.
Black woman playing for LSU does it - OUTRAGE!!
Sorry gotta call it straight.

why are you trying to control and gatekeep how people express their emotions? these are FIERY competitors playing at a high level. this isn't ballet. this is sport.
save the "she isn't classy" pearl clutching.

I'm not a gate keeper for anything. There are objectively bad ways to behave. People like yourself, who believe that you have to be an old person (which I am not) in order to say that you shouldn't go out of your way to be disrespectful, represent how our society is so ate up with narcissism and disregard for everyone around them. You can be excited. Do you you understand that you can be happy, and not go find someone to taunt, at the same time? Why do you believe that one individual's idea of celebration gives them license to say or do whatever they want, without repercussions?
I know all about being competitive. I'm the most competitive person I know, and anyone who knows me, has seen how "emotional" I can get when I'm competing. But I never made it about the other person. It was my desire to win that made me either really happy, or really upset with myself, depending on what I did. And if Clark had been taunting Angel, and Angel was merely responding, that would at least make a little sense. But seeking her out to make the moment about herself, is not how you express emotion. That isn't a sign of joy. That's going out of your way to make a point to someone else, and make sure that they know you're better than them.
If you can't see through that, I'm not going to sit here and try to reason with you any further.

Neither Reese or Clark are villains. Both are high level competitors. And trash talkers. It’s a false dichotomy. Both are winners . Both talk shite. They’d make great teammates and probably will on an Olympic team some day. A tip of the hat to both. I’m glad the one on my team wears the crown.

I think you're extrapolating this a bit much. This isn't about being respectful on the street, in an everyday situation. It's a sport. Athletes talk trash. They get in each other's faces all the time. It happens dozens of times every weekend. Hell, they literally let hockey players fight each other over it.
I think context is important here. She didn't get in someone's face at Walmart. It was on the court.

She singled her out because she was white. There’s no other explanation. Her and morris both said she disrespected a girl from SC. It’s sad they let race play a party in a historic moment for lsu

Nah, not going to happen. Clark is too heavily invested in Iowa as a state and university.
Now Amoore from Virginia Tech, that's another story. Look for her to hit the transfer portal within the next two weeks and announce transfer to LSU 3 days later.
I like what you're saying...hope your crystal ball is spot on for this one. We could use a sharpshooter for next year's team.

And I think you're making the same excuse everyone else is making. Once again, I know about sports and being competitive. I know things are said and done in the HEAT of the moment. Angel picked the time when the game was over to rub it in her face. It has always been understood that is not good sportsmanship.
Getting in people's faces, even in the middle of the game, is also not right. Did you know that technical fouls get called when that happens? Just because "it happens" doesn't make it right. Cheap shots happen in sports. Is it right? Is it ok to hit a quarterback well after the throw, because it's a sport? Sports were not invented for bad behavior. I have no problem with being fired up, and while trash talking isn't my thing, I can live with it. Getting up in peoples faces, especially when the game is ending and your opponent is already defeated an dejected, is not right.
I can't believe this has to be explained to anyone. Where are the adults?
