DB's - might not have the Big shining stars but we have solid numbers and talent

My only problem with what you wrote is you failed to mention how people within the organization said O was not allowing Canada to run what he wanted. He handicapped him which led to altercations between the two. He said he would not do that because he learned from his mistakes and in fact he did just the opposite.
I think you can just chalk this up as it was just a terrible hire from the beginning. He never trusted Canada and it sounds like a lot of people in the building had problems working with Canada. If you hire someone, and you realize that they're not a good fit and might actually be damaging the company, but you can't fire them immediately, you're probably going to adjust their role to try and minimize the damage.
I doubt the results would have been much different either way, though.

You think we should have lost? You don't think we were the better team?

Agree. He has also lined up commits to solve QB pipeline through 2024. Got a top CB for next year. Plus a couple of top lineman for next year.

I’d feel a lot better had we gotten another DB in the last class. The staff messed that up and let two go waiting on people who didn’t come. Other than that your right he is making moves trying to make the team better. Time will tell if he made the right moves.

Again agree. Coach O has moved the program significantly forward. He has done this in spite of ridiculous destructive negative crap from program detractors.

I could look like a dumb shite for trying to be positive and saying O is a different coach than he was at Ole Piss and has more tools to succeed
Wasn’t there a thread recently about an interview with Danny Etling in which he said O would take his shirt off and act like a maniac?
Remember the drum? I think we had a pic of the drum, too.
Doesn’t sound like much change. The “more tools to succeed” part I agree with.

CEO and SE are clearly establishing an offense based on our strengths, and they're giving us what we've been screaming for years for.

gameday preparedness (Les's biggest weakness)

We had an immediate need at QB. We filled it. Burrow is far superior to,Gunnell for LSU right now. We have a two year solution at QB with two solid back up choices. Either of,whom could be a starter in 2020. We have a top notch QB recruit for 2020. This is stuff Miles never did.
There are several right tackle candidates. Center is the biggest problem on the OLine.

How could anyone know this for sure? Neither has played hardly any college football. I'm happy as hell that Burrow is here, but until he's the starter under the bright lights vs an SEC type schedule, no one knows for sure what he's going to do.

OC-his desperation to make a splash for PR reasons caused him to compromise what he wanted the LSU offensive identity to be. That set the program back one year when we don’t have a proven qb. It sure would be nice to have the inexperienced qb’s on the team in year two of the system rather than learning from the third OC in as many years.
Recruiting-we have major holes at RB and CB that have us in playing one deep at historically stacked positions. That’s on him for failing to help some of the players who transferred out see the opportunity and for not recruiting a position of need. QB-looks like LSU will fail to secure an elite qb in the 19 class. Elite schools are signing a qb a year.
Player development-
DL-was poor last season. No depth and the upperclassmen that we had didn’t improve as much as expected. For this to happen at the position that has been under O’s leadership longer than any other is not a good sign.
WR-talent here has not been utilized as needed. We’ll see with the old guy who as coached for decades if this improves.
RB-it seems that LSU will fail to field an elite RB for the first time in about 23 years.
Flops-
The ND loss was his chance to end the season on a positive note. After the embarrassing losses in the beginning of the season it was paramount that he won that game.

So you're expecting us to score first against the Canes, kicking a field goal. Sounds about right.

hmmm
I think this was pointed at me by a Iowa State fan
In this day in time a person has a social media image that seems to be a brand that sticks with the many.
In saying that there are not many more than 10 coaches I would take right now over what I see CEO doing now.
This statement goes back to what I saw CEO do with the team he took from CLM and what I see going on today.
Changing coaches is a big deal - Georgia didn't get it right for almost 35 years and Tennessee is going on 18 years of trying.
The image of Ed Orgeron as a Head Football coach is based on his one term as a HC with Ole Miss. That is to be expected but after this season it will be more based on his 2nd year at LSU.
All the hate will stay on Ed if he fails at LSU and he will never be given the chance to be a Head coach again. I hate that word retarded because it is a old word that brings much pain to many people. The special we have in our lives are not retarded. They have some learning issues that birth brought to them that they have to fight to over-come.
This is what I know to be fact - this staff and Coach Ed Orgeron are working as hard as they can.

The fact that you don’t think the bowl game was an embarrassment tells me all I need to know.

There may be 10 better coaches in the SEC alone right now than O.
