This is laughable. There are ~130 teams in FBS. You are effectively saying you'd take him over 117 coaches in FBS
No not at all - I will take what I have in CEO right now over those 117

This I’ll agree with. It was a bad hire.
OK you thank it was a bad hire - what makes it turn into a good hire ?
how much winning do you need - 1 SEC crown or 1 natty?

First off he fired Canada and hired SE to run his offense.
This isn’t a positive. He was given a blank check and fuched up and went back to a comfort hire that will do what he says.

OL-After one year it seems our OL has the numbers now. Depth at all positions with the main concern being the center position
Who’s our right tackle?
quote:
RB - solid - not 5 star level but solid
Based on what? This is the lowest level of RB talent at LSU in over a decade.
quote:
QB - Joe coming to LSU was a gift - we need better QBs coming in more often but seems to headed up
Based off of what? Not signing one last year and not having one committed this year? Losing your #1 target to Arizona? Relying on transfers is not how championship teams are built.
quote:
DB's - might not have the Big shining stars but we have solid numbers and talent
Yeah were paper thin at CB. We just had to go get a grad transfer from a Pac 12 school.

Media picking us to lose 5 to 6 games
Vegas has us at 7-5. You think they’re in the business of being wrong? They keep the lights on for a reason.
If you want to sunshine pump that’s fine but to act like O has done a great job and is setting LSU up to be a success is a joke. He’s building a staff of yes men and a roster full of transfers
I can't believe that this dumbass shite gets upvoted. If you upvoted this post you are a certified moron.

Why do people want to shower O with praise for shite that the last guy was expected to do as a normal part of his job?

but without facts you’re trying to convince people based off opinions.
well we can start after the Troy game
"we won't win one SEC game" first fact this was wrong
We will never win the SEC with CEO as Head Coach - not a fact but an opinion - waiting to see that
Right now I am sitting on the Miami game
Lets win that one game!

I think most people could live with an sec championship appearance every 3-4 years and not losing at home to 23 point underdogs. The expectations aren't really that unreasonable for a place with our resources and support

Yea but you know how tiger fans are. Anyone associated with that offense will be hammered to no end. When it should be 100% O’s fault if they do fail. Never works out that way

bull shite
I am not giving him praise I am saying what has he not done to get us ready for 2018
Many want him fired right now for what?
I am saying he has done a good job doing what I saw needed to be done to make the team better. You and I will not know the answer until after the Miami game.

I know - I catch it in my on family - the more I really listen to O after understanding what he is saying I love it. He is sold on LSU and being home and I get that 100%. That being said we will never have another home boy coaching and I love that. There is no one on the planet that I want to coach LSU and beat Nick!
I can't say I know anything and I say that knowing you guys will paste that (I can't say I know anything) and run with it. What I am really saying is that I am pulling for this Louisiana man to be a winner at LSU. It goes against the odds - I don't care!

Low standards.
bull shite again
I have high standards with understanding
You can't just hire the right coach and win it all
who is the right coach and when can you get the right coach to come play for you
I hear this from the hate CEO hire bunch often - you just have low expectations or you like him because he is a home boy. I think CEO has a couple of things going for him that will help LSU. He understands LSU and the SEC better than many out-side of the SEC that we could bring in. He is a recruiter ! He is a D-line guy and a D guy which works for playing SEC football.
If you hate the CEO hire and you will never give him a break until he is fired or he wins the SEC nothing I say matters. In fact if I support O in any way I am stupid.
that is the bottom line
so until the above happens
fired or win to much to be fired
we will be playing this game

I haven't seen anybody say he should be fired right now, but there are plenty of people who want him gone:
For finishing 9-4 last year.
For botching the Canada hire.
For the handing of the February and December singing periods (Goodrich/Foster/Surtain)
They simply hated the hire, can't move past it and he hasn't done anything yet that gives them hope.
The way we lost to State and Notre Dame, and the fact we lost to Troy.
Landing Burrow was huge and despite the bitter end, I think last year's recruiting class is really good.
I'm hopeful and optimistic, but don't pretend there haven't been any issues thus far.

Isn't that his job? Why is this a discussion? We're stating the obvious, he's doing what he's getting paid to do.
quote:
Many want him fired right now for what
Because he's not an improvement on the guy he was fired for.

Hire someone who is capable of implementing a quality offense (on paper at least).
If Ensminger surprises me and is actually a better than average hire, then honestly, I can't complain about what Orgeron has done in this offseason.

This was in response to one of my Canada was a bad hire posts, so he was agreeing that Canada was a bad hire, not O.

They were both bad losses. State absolutely dominated us, and we should have beaten Notre Dame comfortably.

Look, CEO inherited some talent but not much depth as well as a decline which was real. He didn't have the best recruiting class (thanks, Surtain, Jr.), but he absolutely has recognized the missing pieces and has filled them--QB, kicker, OL, DL. Honestly, the only obviously questionable part is the SE hire, but CEO and SE are clearly establishing an offense based on our strengths, and they're giving us what we've been screaming for years for. CEO also actually kept the team together after firing CLM and last year's debacle to Troy. Time will tell on SE, the offense gelling, and the staff CEO has put together. Aranda's got the D--no worries there. But it's not a question of whether CEO has done the off-season things to right what was wrong; it's just a question of whether it will work and of gameday preparedness (Les's biggest weakness), and only time will tell. Football season, let's geaux!
thank you
well said

First off he fired Canada and hired SE to run his offense. You can't make judgment on this issue until you see the results but the man did as all Head Coaches do - replace what they see broke. He hired Canada and after not seeing what he wanted he replaced him. You might not like the SE hire but only time will tell.
My only problem with what you wrote is you failed to mention how people within the organization said O was not allowing Canada to run what he wanted. He handicapped him which led to altercations between the two. He said he would not do that because he learned from his mistakes and in fact he did just the opposite.
