What has been the difference in the improvement of the passing game?

I think we can all agree the passing game has improved a great deal. Obviously we had a bad game at Florida but minus that game and we have shown a great deal of improvement.

Is it JB becoming more comfortable? Timing with WR's improving? Play calling?

Chemistry. Joe's a baller. Everyone's buying in.

Don't think you can attribute it to one of the three. Think they all improve each week.

I think this team has the unquestionable ability to get up for big games. Let's see if they can roll MissState this weekend like they should, and then give them a nice 2 week rest and preparation for the biggest game this season.

It's not any one thing.
- pre-snap reads and getting out of bad plays
- having an actual plan to attack the weaknesses of the defense
- attacking different levels, short, intermediate and long
- unpredictability
- having a QB with the swagger to stand up on the bench and claim that "this is my fricking house".

When it’s good I think It’s because you see more short throws and we’re using better receivers.

Sullivan is more involved. The Freshmen are coming along.

Honestly last game we connected on our shots down field. The passing game always looks better when we’re pulling those down.

QBs and WRs getting on the same page. This is Burrows first starting season and he had little time with the team prior to the season. Plus, a new offense.

I think they are all finding their niche

Burrow is a first year starter. It was expected he would get better week to week. As long as he is back next year I expect us to be really good at the qb position next year. I expect him to get drafted.

Pass protection and the receivers actually catching the ball are the biggest differences.

Obviously, I think having JB and his confidence is a major driver. But, it helps having that stud go to receiver that never drops the ball and always finds a way to get open. His name is Justin Jefferson and he's a sophomore. Having him in the game opens up things for everyone.

Not sure the last time we've had one of those since the days of Beckham/Landry.

This has been a huge difference. Not dropping catchable balls on the regular.

From what? It's better than earlier this season, but it ranks in the 80ies nationally and bottom half of SEC.

I am happy its improving and I think Joe has done a good job overall, but red zone TDs is leaving a lot to be desired.

all 3 plus our OL played great last Saturday. MSU has a great front 7 but as long as they aren't as quick as Florida's we should move the ball and score. our tackles just got hammered at florida.

I think a big thing was the refs let them play last weekend. UF game refs called everything, missed spotting the ball, and were a royal pain.

O-line is getting better, and Joe and the receivers are developing better chemistry. Both lead to greater confidence and that leads to better performance.
