This team is so bad. They will be lucky to win 3 games. O will go into next season on the hot seat. What do you think he needs to do to keep his job? I’d say anything over 2 losses and he’s gone. This team will have the experience and talent to be a very good team next year.

Nope.. and 2021. Was always going to be a better year. No one is going to get trashed for a China virus year.

If this train comes off the track as bad as it looks right now... it’s going to be a real tough off season for him. Big thing is he is about to lose out on The recruiting Bump from the NC. This team is a dumpster fire.

Just my opinion and I started the thread about comparisons to Chizik. Chizik was there for only 4 years and was let go 2 that's right 2 years after the MNC with Newton and Malzahn. I know that this is a strange year with Covid 19 and all and that is why I really could have done without college football this year and I am aware that I am in the very minority with that, but teams like Missouri with a brand new coach and 6 players out with Covid 19 or being quarantined and tear through our defense like they did does not give any coach a PASS because of the Pandemic again in my opinion only. In sum , losing season this year and 4 to 5 losses next year, I believe that Raising Cane's will again be looking for a new spokesperson.

He's in year 1 of a six year $6 million per contract. One year after the best season in the history of LSU football. And a season where LSU (and everyone else) will suffer a nuclear bomb to their revenue stream.

The AD's at every school are desperately trying to figure out just how to keep some sports alive. At least for now, the reckless spending his curbed because there is no money to spend. Ed is here for AT LEAST 3 more season (including this year).

9-3 in 21 won’t get him fired even if we go 1-9, which we won’t.

Pressure would be on in 22, but even 8-4 doesn’t get him fired in 21. 7-5 and things might get interesting but it would probably take 6-6 or worse.

Even if things continue the same way? No he absolutely won’t.

It would take a complete unraveling for O not to be here through 2022. We would need to finish this year 2-8, lose a bunch of recruits, and then go like 3-9 next year and also have a shitty recruiting class.

Of course with how we look on the field and how O has been acting recently, not out of the realm of possibility

Sorry, I do not see us ever buying out O. His buyout is 70% of his contract or something. We don’t have that money. Look what happened when we bought out Miles. We couldn’t afford to get a big name coach so we settled on O. Even though it worked out for us last year, what’s the likelihood of that ever happening again.

We’re also stuck with Pelini until at least 2022.
