What does Mens BB have to do

Beating Georgia Tech should probably do it.

LSU up to #4 in Haslam performance rankings after Thursday's games. LSU (8-0) was 122nd in defensive efficiency last year and 175th two seasons ago. LSU is now #1 defense this year and are giving up 53.1 ppg in regulation 40-minute play. LSU held opponents under 60 points three times in all of last years games. They've already held six opponents under 60 so far this season in 8 games.
Now imagine if they had this guy healthy LINK Miller ability to get his own shot, shoot, and create from the perimeter as well as adding his pitbull mentality on defense this team could’ve been a real final 4 caliber team.

The AP/Coaches polls doesnt matter at all
NET is what matters and look at more advanced stats like torvik and kenpom

Based upon the others receiving votes total LSU is "ranked" 28-29. Some at the bottom of the top 25 lost this week (Memphis, Michigan), so that may be enough to push LSU up. But the reason LSU isn't ranked is because, while they have several "decent" wins, they don't have any noteworthy wins.
That said, the rankings (especially now) are totally insignificant. In fact, basketball ranking fluctuate more than any other sport due to the amount of games.
I don't ever check the rankings because they don't matter. Look at the advanced metrics to see how good the team is...not what some loser sportswriter 8 states away who has never watched an LSU game thinks.

We aren't hanging banners for being in the top 25, so who cares.
Finish in the top 4 in the SEC and make the sweet 16 every year should be the floor of what you want to accomplish. Anything after that is lagniappe, and we without a doubt have the potential to make a deep run this year. With our defense, if we just play mediocre on offense and not pitiful, we will compete with anyone in the country. We play just average to slightly above average offensively and there's only a handful of teams that could beat us assuming they played a great game. I think we are that good this year, but that's a big if with the offensive production.

This team, much more than any prior Wade team at LSU, has fully bought into aggressive defense. It has also bought into its us against the world mentality. I hope they remain unranked until after the final four.

Polls are utterly irrelevant. The only ranking that really matters at all is NET, and then the March Madness Committee’s seedlings.

Duke is the only ranked team in the ACC right now, and you know they'll get multiple teams into the tournament. Trusting in tPear to work things out.

They have to beat someone with a Kenpom rating over 150. Wade needs to learn how to schedule better.

GT's Kenpon rating of #70 won't cut it for the Top 25 but its better than all of the sub 150 schools LSU beat.
