The fact that LSU is the worst team in the SEC over such a long stretch WITH as much (more?) NBA talent as Kentucky and Florida over the last two decades should be a really big eye opener as to the REAL state of the program.
You really are understating the sanctions we were under, but out program has never been worse than the last 2 years. You may argue as bad, but it has been in a very sad state. That's why 3-5 is suddenly a ray of hope.

From 1993-2002, we won 5, 6, 4, 3, 2, 4 and 2 SEC games, with one 12 win season in 2000 (thanks Stromile!) and a 6 win NIT season in 2002.
To me that looks just a hair worse than 12 wins, 2 wins, 3 wins, 7-8-9ish wins this year, and a legitimate shot at winning the west next year.
But maybe I'm looking at it wrong.

What else is there?
We return all five starters.
State loses Moultrie and Best.
Ole Miss loses Terrence Henry.
Alabama loses Green.
Auburn loses Gabriel.
Arkansas doesn't lose much (Sanchez?), but are they better than LSU right now?
LSU competing for the West is a reasonable expectation for next year. Every team except Arkansas is losing their leading scorer.

Except there's no more West...right? Or are we going back to that with the new additions?

No more east/west in SEC basketball is what the c'mon brah was most likely intended for.

there is no west/east anymore.

For the record, no time to read all 11 pages so i'll just say this and go...
Sheep is making good points, but my sarcasm radar is spiking every time I read one of his posts.
He's making great points. Trolling sarcastically but still making some good points, IMO.
G2G. Beat Vandy. Will be in PMAC Saturday, and get photographed in student section again.

I missed the memo on no more West.
Whoops.....
So, I guess our BIG objective needs to be what?
4th(ish) in the conference?
Behind Kentucky, Florida and Missouri?
Short term.... Top 6 in the conference?
I see no reason we can't be as good (or better) than the "West" teams, and Texas A&M, and the shite east teams (Georgia, USC, Tennessee)

But you can't deny the fact that our program was shite when Brady was fired. We had players to put one good team together but because Brady could't sustain a program, TJ had to rebuild completely from scratch. At a school that is basically 3rd string to Football and Baseball, that takes time.
Scratch what are you talking about. I hardly believe taking over a team with 3 guys who have played in the NBA scratch. JB also left him with taz, storm and bo spencer I hardly think that is scratch. TJ could have built on the team he inherited instead he let our program go in the take by not signing one legit player till his thrid year. Brady also had a decent recruiting class coming in who did not come when he left. I am not okay with mediocre, and we are below medocre. Watch this team coming out of timeouts and see how many times something good happens, not many times do we come out with a set play and score. I for one in this guys fourth year was not planning on HOPING to get in the NIT. Brady's gone, and left this guy a SEC championship team, so much so he sent Brady a ring. Then has since tanked with HIS players

So is it:
or is it:
These are two separate things.
Which is it? Did Brady leave him with a great team or was their nothing coming in?

Who cares about colls temple, so what. I guess no one coached those kids, LSU should get the best talent in this town. Every kid growing up in BR wants to play at LSU. Those kids came to LSU cause they wanted to.
Posted on 2/6/12 at 9:03 pm to Sheep
both, the only kid he signed from brady's recruits was storm, the others went to schools like ucla and oklahoma. TJ not signing one legit kid in his first two years here is the reason we are praying to get in the NIT. It is alot easier to sell a program winning the SEC instead of placing last place two years in a row. Sheep you and I do not agree at all. You continue to go back 20 years, those days are gone. The nba screwed up the college game, and you can't BUILD a program like in those days. You throw out all these stats trying to prove your point comparing tj's first four years and brady's first four years. You must not have know the sanctions and penalties this program was under in JB's first four years, it was as close to the death penalty as a program could be. It's not even close and you continue to make the comparsion, their records are almost the same, one coach was on probation and the other wasn't. Just sayin. its apples and oranges. TJ had plenty to build on and sell and he blew it. Him not signing one legit player till he signed turner is the reason we are in this boat. Being in the graduate program i would have thought you could have figured that out.

He's never coming back. Never. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Not next month. Not even next year. Not ten years from now. He will die and will have never stepped foot back on LSU's campus. Can you please realize this and move on. You are literally the absolute worst poster when it comes to conjuring back up Brady ball discussion. Do you just cut and paste prior info that you've posted? I'm dead serious. There are single issue voters, and then there are single issue posters. You live and die to post about Brady on this board. Just stop.
ETA: He's coming back for his daughter's graduation (thanks poster below), so jr44 can consummate his future with John on that day.

i would take him back tomorrow over tj. I did not start this subject, i am by no means pulling for brady to come back, Just getting the record straight. When people quit blaming brady for leaving TJ nothing to work with I will quit getting the facts straight. it reminds me of obama blaming bush.

Nobody is blaming Brady. People bring Brady up to justify TJ's slow start. Whether that's fair or not, that's what it is. Comparing records of Brady and TJ is stupid. Both had individual problems they had to deal with that greatly affected their ability to win early. And this includes a total lack of support from the fanbase, which really does matter in landing some players. Both also had some good things happen to them, including TJ's first year Brady players and Brady having some serious instate talent that was coming here no matter what. But they coached the teams to success.
So Brady really has nothing to do with this discussion other than to explain some of TJ's slow start. That's it. And not no, but frick no, on the idea of Brady coming back.
