Just went back and checked the stats and of course I'm right on this:
KW, RM, CS combined stats: 150 att 6.9 ypg 13 TD
OUs Murray: 127 att 6 ypg 13 TD - and he wasn't even the starter
When you combine him and Bradford vs new QB for LSU, OU gets the edge. On RB depth and versatility, LSU may be better but only a hopeless homer would take Lee/Hatch over Bradford.
how bout you add in the yards.
murray- 764 yds
kw, rm, cs - 1,032 yds.
an dont exclude t. holliday - 364 yds and 2 tds.
and bradford had 31 car for 7 yards and no tds!! how do u consider him a running threat.
If Hatch starts i expect him to atleast be as good of a runner as Flynn who had 215 yds and 4 tds.

quote:johnson came on STRONG at the end of the season. havili is awesome but he's not head and shoulders above johnson, at least not last season.
You must have missed Havili last year.
quote:there's no doubt that mcknight is more the typical football player build. but trindon can definitely hold his own against mcknight when it comes to game-breaking plays.
You also say that McKnight is another Holliday? You must have also missed McKnight as her got in his groove the last 1/3 of the season.

i love lsu backfield it presents so many problems when you figure in kw cs rm and th, but UGA hands down when you think moreno, and king i know king hasnt prove anything but who was knowshon moreno last preseason??? no one had him listed as an all sec back, but the difference maker to me is brennan southerland the best fullback in the country. uga is one of the few teams in the sec to use the I. no one is a better lead blocker

quote:ok, king hasn't proven anything, but you know that uga is hands down better than lsu? lsu's backs have proven their ability with actual game time. uga can't say the same, at least not to the extent lsu can.

keep reading ... knowshon by hisself has more yard than the lsu backs

so you will take a top notch back(moreno), an unproven back with upside(king), and a good fb(southerland) over 4 really good backs and a great blocking fb. not me.
and i dont think moreno is head and shoulders over williams either

I agreed with you in my last post but the question is about backfield, not just RBs. In the big picture, OU and LSU are very close and possibly OU better if you include QBs. I don't think any team in the country is as versatile and deep as LSU runningbacks (if you inclued TH and QJ and Ridley), but you can't argue Lee is even close to Bradford at this point. And anybody who says our best RB is better than any 1 RB in the country based on past performance is just nuts. Maybe after this season we can say that, but not now.
Nevermind, I bet somebody here could.

i love our backfield dont get me wrong but knowshon rushed for 1334 and 14 tds but he didnt start till the vandy game, the 7th game of the year. kw is good but he hasnt come close to these numbers remember uga has had the depth at rb just like us so dont give me that kw doesnt get the carries

once again Bradford: 31 car. 7 yds. and no tds!!
are you trying to say he is a good runner.
Lee is not our starter btw. Hatch is a better runner than bradford

Youre missing the point: QBs are part of the backfield. Check on Bradford's passing stats and compare them to Hatch.

sorry bud, yur missing the point. the whole thread was on running backs and rushing yards!

No, your thread was about running backs and rushing yards. Thread title says "backfield". A quarterback is part of the backfield and their stats and abilities should be included. I agree with you if you are only talking about runningbacks. Then LSU is the shite.

My point exactly. You could include Lee's stats while you're at it.
Posted on 7/9/08 at 3:47 pm to TheDoc
Doc, didn't you start this thread? Do you mean to include QB when you talk about backfield? Maybe I got it wrong.

agree. while there is no doubt that usc has the horses, let's not go making them out to be BETTER than lsu. they aren't. at most, it's even.
USC's are better. At most LSU is 2nd best of the two team's backfields.
