Ive been out of state for 15 yrs. and am not in the know about potential long term facility plans. What is likely with PMAC? New paint, remodel, or staples center at baton rouge? Any necessary or unnecessary updates to Tiger Stadium in the works? (AT&T stadium at Baton Rouge?) Assuming the box needs nothing in the near future?

I think the stadium is ok with infrastructure for the moment. We need to focus on services in the stadium before capital projects imo.

As to the PMAC I still think we could do a complete gut of the shell and build a modern basketball arena inside with world-class amenities. The question becomes, is it cheaper to do that than say- build a new Bernie Moore and then build a from scratch arena on that site (or a new arena elsewhere)

For the box- there are many things that could be done. It is behind he curve in amenities and facilities. Don’t assume because it was finished relatively recently that it doesn’t need anything.

I'm no architect but I feel the way the PMAC is already structured makes it tough to do a complete remodel as most basketball arena's now aren't complete bowls and are more square shape types

PMAC could just use a good sprucing. Rearrange seating arrangements (ie students and media). Could the lower sections be extended/elongated to finish closer to the court?

Box needs more chair backs. Plain and simple. A berm or some kind of outfield student seating with alcohol allowed would attract crowds for sure.

See above- more chair backs, a berm, actually have the bar/tent area where you can watch the game from it instead of on TVs, more covered seating.

Every venue needs to have concessions and services rebuilt from scratch. Not the physical structures per se, but the food, employees, ordering and payment systems, etc.

One more thing- and I know this is controversial around here- but connectivity needs to be drastically improved. Whether you want it to be this way or not, being able to jump on the Internet to check scores, post a picture, or send a message to someone is no longer an optional amenity in today’s world. And LSU sucks in this regard. Other stadiums and schools do this much better than we do. This is one area we need to fix quickly.

One other thing: pedestrian bridge over Nicholson near Burbank or Football Ops. I know there was one planned to go over Nicholson extension by CEBA/PFT. Would really help for baseball games

I’m no architect either. It just seems to me that there is enough space in the PMAC shell to do this. What I see is an open concourse design with the top level of seating significantly closer to the court. If you had an open concourse plan then you would have the space the concourse currently takes up as well as the interior space of the arena to work with. Hell- maybe it won’t work, but it seems worth investigating to me.

Tiger Stadium - nothing really needs to be done right now other than getting rid of Aramark.

PMAC - either a complete remodel or build a new arena elsewhere. it's limited as to what you can do with the actual building due to how it was designed and its proximity to Mike's Habitat, Tiger Stadium, and the Cox Auditorium.

The Box - a new/improved batter's eye, a berm, removal of all bleachers for chairbacks down the right and left field lines, close in the outfield with seating, better/more concessions (again Aramark removal, if they also handle baseball), and put a net in front of that new and improved video board so home runs can't frick it up...for starters.

I like the PMAC Redux, but it should become a parade grounds/concert venue/concession area for TigerStadium long term..

The new Hoops arena should be built on Bernie Moore..with the new Bernie Moore relocated to near the Box or Ponderosa(across from Vet school)

As long as it's not the same firm that built the one at FIU

Updating concessions, they're gross and overpriced. When I was a kid they let church groups and student organizations sell concessions to make money. They dont do that anymore?

PMAC needs to be bulldozed and a PMAC 2 needs to be built out by the Box. LSU finally has a 1st class ball coach, he needs first class facilities to recruit.

Yeah PMAC needs to be rebuilt. A remodel just won’t cut it.

Probably less overall seating, more premium seating, boxes, etc.

This. Too many seats in Tiger Stadium and many are terrible and you cannot give away the tickets for 90% of the games.

Stadium needs less crappy seats and more premium seats but overall less seats. I read that Florida is reducing seat count in their Football stadium.

I have spoken to the architect who does a lot for LSU.

Before the recent Wade issues, the next basketball build planned (and was to happen soon) was an addition to the existing practice facility. This addition would have dedicated offices, workout facilities, and other amenities for both men's and women's basketball. Hope this is back on course with reinstatement of Wade.

The same architect said that the PMAC renovation seemed to be a more realistic option rather than a new arena because of cost. There is considerable space inside the dome to overhaul the configuration and modernize features.

Fewer ad boards around the stadium and on the video board. Stop the ridiculous "1st quarter sponsored by Zatarains Fish Fry Mix" crap and the incessant commercial babbling by Dan Borne. Also, let the damn band play what they want, when they want.

This is something besides something with concessions needs to happen ASAP! Even at basketball games half full, I couldn’t sent a text or make a call at halftime inside the place. And of course check in on the rant. Doesn’t seem to be a complicated request.
