how this is going to go. Clemson will come out with the looks on D that they believe will confuse and slow Joe's ability to read the back half of the field. If we come out and score on either of our 1st two drives, I believe we win this game by 20+. Clemson feels a sense of security that Venables will be able to scheme them into success. If we take that notion away, I think it will get in their head..quickly. We won't quit scoring like OSU did. Plus that crowd...

This game comes down to red zone production. Aside from turnovers which can happen in any game, scoring TDs is the key. LSU will have several scoring chances and we must finish drives. OSU could have easily gone up 28-0 as opposed to 16-0. The difference was less than 20 yards rot score 12 more points. Not sure Clemson would have overcome that deficit.

I don’t think so. Did you see the Texans today? There will be adjustments throughout the game. Let’s see how adjustments affect the play.

This game will be all about our defense. We're going to move the ball at will and score on them. Can our defense handle their running game and limit big plays when they take their shots (which we all know they'll take)?

I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes longer.

Venables is known for his adjustments not for his pregame D's, the first two drives are the least important imo

This is it. If we kick FGs we lose, get TDs and we win. LSU will move the ball up and down the field but must get TDs cause Clemson will move the ball as well.

Nah I don’t think so man. The good ones know how to adjust and Venables is a good one.

I would argue that this is Clemson's weakest championship defense and Venables knows it. He also knows he's never had to coach against an offense this overpowering.(arguable I guess) I don't believe he thinks he's got till halftime to adjust against this offense!

This is a game of adjustments with masters doing the thinking. 2 drives won't tell the game

Did you ever really feel like we were going to lose that game? Other than Texas, because both teams were still sort of an unknown, after 2-3 drives in every game this year, I knew we were going to win. I feel the same way about tomorrow. Against FLA/Aub/Al/UGA, I just seemed obvious early in each game(even Fla) that we could score what we needed to for the win. Clemson will either stand up early on D or get run over.

I remember Clemson being a second half team in past championships. Dabo will save different looks for the second half, book it. We better come out ready to hit the gas hard in the third quarter. That will define the game.

That's conventional wisdom. Conventional wisdom and LSU's offense don't work wee together this year. We may not know the final score after 2 drives but you'll know

Nobody is bringing up the fact that our run game can slash them.

If Clemson sells out to stop Joe, Clyde can go off.

College games are far too long for that theory to hold true in games with this much talent. All you have to do is look back one game to see the example of that with Clemson being down 16-0 to Ohio State then coming back and winning despite Ohio State continuing to control the game. In college 2 possessions simply isn’t a large enough portion of the game.

I get that. This is a one off opinion held specifically for this LSU team. I actually think Clemson can beat us.(I don't think they will) We have such an arsenal of weaponry this year that I expect to see early whether Clemson simply has the athletes to hang. Clemson ain't winning a shoot-out that gets up in the 40's IMO. It took Auburn having our worst redzone game between play calls/execution to keep us from being in the 40's and I believe Auburn, hands-down, is better defensively than Clemson. We'll find out soon enough!
